Thoughtful idea, but way too difficult to implement and keep track of.

Nope, it isn't dark souls has a memorial for deaths within the game so itd be easy for within the tower. Submit the gamertag of the person and get added to the memorial

Agreed and the family has authority over what can be displayed like having someone's real name posted along with their Gamertag or not. I would suggest their name can only be posted if the family requested it. So a normal posting would just be their Gametag, birth year and year of death. Maybe even after clicking on someone's post it would expand out to a small eulogy text?

No, just the gamertag and it expires after 3 months to keep space use to a minimum I know personally how big archives like that can get.

Definitely something to keep in mind. Would be up to Bungie to figure that out. Seems like FB doesn't have any problems keeping immortalized pages up though.

"In loving memory of... xQuikSc0px2Yung2Diex420x."

Doesnt matter what their gamertag is, who are we to mock those who are dead?

I just believe people should be remembered for accomplishments in life over bad decisions that reflect negatively on them. Have seen more than a few account names that are likely not how people would want their loved ones remembered. That is not mocking, it is taking into account that when it comes to people's online personas, the best judgement is not always used. If it were to be family member submitted, would suggest that they use something other than the account name - because it also makes it more personal.
