Low Impact high Firerate Weapons are not competitive

Low Impact high firerate weapons are not competitive for Destiny's "Competitive playlist." So why do I feel like they are being pushed so hard in this current DLC? I understand that most of the players are PVE majority, that is obvious. I also understand that outside of raids you can use any weapon in PVE. Meaning the majority of weapon stats matter in a competitive playlist because only few weapons are effective in raids anyways... Therefor why such a push for low impact high fire rate in the game? I would like to see more balanced weapons than more marshmallow shooting auto rifles or boulder throwing slow shooting scout rifles. Is my reasoning flawed and am I the only one thinking about this? @community

  • I agree, I hate the "SMG" auto rifles mw and my friends call auto rifles with low impact high fire rate. They should just make smg class. And make more auto rifles like suros, not as strong cause its an exotic obviously. But u mean it being accurate and a bit slower shooting. Good impact, slower shooting, and reliable accuracy thats a gun I want which I cant find anywhere unless im using suros or the old auto rifles which you cant even buy anymore OR upgrade their damage so now theyre completely useless.

    • I prefer solid damage and accuracy over crazy firerate! I mean what's fire rate if you can't land all the shots

      • What are you talking about? The Shingen and Hushwind were two of the best ARs. These are the same, at least Up for Anything, just with higher attack values.

      • I agree. I have always felt that the high ROF, low impact ARs are not as good as ARs like SUROS, Shadow Price, Vanquisher, and Grim Citizen. I was surprised to discover that all the DLC ARs are bullet hoses. Not only are they my least favorite weapon type, they also downright suck. Maybe Bungie thinks the "precision auto rifles" are too powerful.

      • Because they realized how "Precision Auto Rifles" broke the game with Suros and Shadow Price
