Sooooo Husk of the Pit... MUST READ
After being in patrol for 3 hours on Earth and hunting down 20+ swords in multiple different spawns, i decided to try my luck on the mission.
Well i just broke 30+ tries on that lol have tried it on multiple characters,black wax, no black wax, headshot kill, body shot kill, grenade kill, mele kill, different elemental kills, super kills, and the list goes on.
I kneel before you RNGesus, a desperate and broken man, hoping one day you will bless me with this weapon of amazingness. For now though i concede defeat. Til next time.

Took me 60ish mission kills

Took me a while too. I spent an hour after work a few days ago farming the mission (skipping the mobs, killing the blade, quitting to orbit, repeat) and then did patrols for a while as well. I finally had it drop yesterday after farming the mission for the 5th time. It's frustrating, but don't let it ruin your Destiny experience haha. Now if only I could get Hawkmoon to finally drop...

Don't stress about it. Do it 3-9 times a day and only do it with the crota blade bounty on so u don't feel the grind too hard.

About 4 days ago I went hunting for one of them husks of the pit guns, after killing sword knight after sword knight for about 4-5 hrs straight I manage to get one, I then decided to continue doing my bounties for the day, while doing the public events bounties I came across some sword nights which I killed just on principle, an i happened to get me 2 more husks of the pits back to back one after the other and I wasn't event trying Then today I was maxing one of them so I could upgrade it to the legendary version on the rocket yard on earth, took me about 1 hrs straight, you have to kill hive so it starts to get xp and turning in bounties with it equipped don't work, I killed so many hive including all sword knight spawns that all my free inventory slots were full of blue engrams and 1 lonely legendary engram, when I got back to the tower to turn in all engrams I had about 5 more engram on lost and fount on the postmaster, including guess what another husk of the pit gun, I guess one of those sword Knights I killed during that 1 hr gave me one So in the last few days I have manage to get a total of 4 husks of the pit

My level 20 friend has 3 of them and I've been farming for hours and haven't gotten even one :/

Level 4 character had it. Never noticed. Guess it really is random. >_> I just poked at blades while passing by.

I got it from doing the bounty for killing 15 hive with Croat sword. Just did the spinmetal farm run in the rocketyards and dropped there

Went on moon patrol twice.Found the blade 3 times and got 2 husks.Only bit of luck I've had in this game.

I got the gun after many kills. Did the raid after I gave up on the husk of the pit. Came back and first kill while randomly doing bounties and it drops.

I did the fist of crota, Killed the blade knight if it didn't reward me with it I backed out and relayed it, 3rd try I got it. I bypassed everyone at the start and went straight to the blade knight. I was level 30 with no black wax or anything else. Also I got it on my 3rd try, by accident l, when I was doing eris bounty kill 3 blade knight.

Took me around 5 cumulative hours between 3 days. You'll get there bud.

I had 3 drop, have a friend host the game invite you then do the fist of Croat mission, use murmur and kill the sword carrier, should get it you second time doing the mission, it took two tires on my main and alt. then it took my friend two tries in his main and alt. so maybe just some crazy luck but it worked for four of these guns so try it man. Goodluck

Got mine in two trays on the story mission. Just keep at it man but recommend the story mission.
