Nah most of the people who made that game left and made Platinum Games. If it's made by Ninja Theory I'll probably pass on it after the cock up of DmC.

  • No they didn't. Hideki Kamiya was the director for Devil May Cry - no other DMC games. Hideki Kamiya was also part of Capcom's Clover Studios, he and most of the team went over to PG yes, but Clover had nothing to do with DMC.

  • Yea I meant to say that he created and was the director and writer for the first game. Don't know why I said he took that team when he took Clover with him. Still if Ninja Theory is writing whatever they added to the game I'll probably wait for reviews seeing as how they wanted Dante to be like in DmC.

There's is no information on the game other than it exists, so no one knows if Ninja Theory is making it. For all we know, it could be an in house thing just as all the other DMCs - including 4 - were

  • Would be nice if it was a in-house thing with the team that made 2, 3, and 4.

  • Kek. If they do this right though - and with the way they've been, that's a pretty big "if" - it can open up more possibilities for the original series and story to actually be continued. They just need to stop trying to make the game appeal to all these newfags that never gave a damn about the series to begin with but then just started playing the reboot and claiming it to be the best...

  • All of this. They need to right the ship and continue in with this series of DMC because honestly Capcom doesn't have a lot going for it at the moment and this would help a lot. I don't get why they are trying to get people with this new Dante. He sucks!

Yeah, for some reason the brilliant folks at Capcom decided that Dante isn't cool anymore and has lost his appeal so they wanted a fresh start - which is what DMC4 was going to be, no Dante just Nero but they recived a huge backlash from that and rightfully so. The reboot was a further attempt at refreshing the series and to Ninja Theory's credit, they did originally design him to look more like the previous Dantes, but Cap said no, it has to be all new and that's why we're left with this pos that looks like some fanfic with full "artistic" freedoms... As for the story, I often see new "fans" and so called long time fans say that the series never had much of a "good" story to begin with and then there are the people that don't give a damn one way or the other if the story is good or bad and just care about gameplay. I for one - with DMC at least - care about both equally and have always liked the somewhat convoluted and plot-hole filled mess that is the story. I say this at the risk of sounding like some snobby hipster, but I've come to realize DMC's story, lore, mythos - whatever you want to call it - is sort of an acquired taste. Either you like it or you don't, but in my opinion, if something has a decent following of dedicated fans, you should never drastically change it to try and appeal to those that never gave a damn... 'Cause then it becomes solely about making more $$$ and nothing else. It's better to appeal to a small niche and know you'll make a profit from them no matter what, rather than to completely change something to try and appeal to others and completely fail...

  • Huh I never looked into to see what was going on with the reboot but if that's true it explains a lot and maybe I shouldn't give Ninja a Theory such a hard time. Capcom should stick out of projects because it has caused a lot of good people to jump ship from them like the creators of Viewtiful Joe, RE series, and Mega Man. DMC has always been sort of niche but it had a strong following with people who really liked it like yourself and I and there are the people who don't care about it. I don't get why they thought by going this route (DmC) would lead to more people liking the game/series when it completely backfired and made new and old fans not like it. Capcom is trying to make money for how poorly they have been doing and DmC blew back up in there face with their unrealistic sales goal of 5 million copies sold and then backed off that and went down to 2 million and didn't even reach that.
I shouldn't give Ninja Theory such a hard time
... Well... Yes and no. Yes 'cause originally they were trying to stay true to Dante's design and no 'cause when they were given free rein, they - primarily the lovable and not at all douchéy Tameem Antoniades - took it upon themselves to give fans the finger multiple times... And don't even get me started on Cap's retarded sales expectations for any game... DMC4 was the highest selling DMC and it still wasn't good enough for them. Now whenever they release new games they always have some absurd number of units that they want to sell which they'll never reach... Iirc, their numbers for RE6 was 6 million copies...

  • Ya that's true.... I guess I'm extremely tough on them but they have made many mistakes with the reboot.... Capcom still thinks it's the 80's/90's and feel whatever they put out is gold and it will fly off store shelfs. When I heard those RE 6 numbers I just laughed and said good luck with that.Shit they don't even have the money to make SF and that's their top selling game. I think eventually Capcom will be sold to Bandi Namco or sold off as pieces to different publishers.
