In my opinion obviously. I just had more fun play VOG than crota. Crota seems more rushed a more quickly with all these time limits with the sword and the never ending thrall. It just seems like they threw in a ton of baddies and time limits cuz they couldn't think of anything else. I love the VOG though! That's fun! Jumping puzzle, Gorgon lair, killing atheon. All fun!

There all good but. I like the getting to the end boss equally. But I prefere Crota guess it's just the big blaming evil dude with a sword.

3 RepliesI still run VoG. Still want the mytho. Still keep getting helmets. He dropped 2 for me tonight. 16 hard mode kills. 18 helmets. 0 vex mytho's. #LAME

So much more and you had time to get chests
-
Yep it was

I think both raids feel pretty small. Sure VoG is in a much bigger area but it is still filled with nothing for the most part. To be perfectly honest, they both feel like simple five man dungeons, not raids. Destiny should have launched with about 5 of them and two huge actual raids with more than 5-6 encounters each. Crota "raid" is literally two small events and a boss.
-
Yep Crota is boring. There's so much more to explore in the VoG like the hidden chests and the underground area under the first chest. Also I loved the jumping puzzle because it was hilarious to watch people fall off.

4 RepliesThe Crota raid seems easier than last week's nightfall.

1 ReplyI love crota. What make crota's end so much better for me is the lore behind the raid and the amazing level design of crotas citadel/castle/heaven/hell/building thing.
-
Completely agree with you. This raid feels very rushed compared to VoG, I do like the lamp maze though. Just wish they would up VoG gear to 31.
-
VoG feels lifeless infront of Crota's end. This is a fantastic improvement over the last raid.
-
5 RepliesI can't agree. Phase 1 of Crota is totally awesome and way better than a huge chunk of VOG. The bridges fight was clever. Crota requires much greater team coordination.
-
I like them both but last night I did VoG again and felt like I was just standing in the same spot for 90% of the raid and was never in any real danger while Croats end is fast paced action that makes you constantly move....really just depends what mood you are in I guess
-
Or the wanted to give you a different kind of challenge from a different kind of enemy. The Vex are methodical. The Hive are bestial and destroy everything in their wake like Army ants on the move...
-
Nah. To me vog is a chore. Too long Crota is fun and short. With easier wipes You only wipe in vog if a preatorian or oracle glitches

1 ReplyWhy can't you type like a normal person, this hurts my brain to read.

Vault of glass was a more puzzle basedraid. Crota's End is a more team oriented raid.
-
1 ReplyI like the mechanics of crota raid better but it is too short. VOG had 7-8 parts where crota raid has only 4, and one does even give rewards. Overall, VOG was better IMO
-
6 RepliesCompared to Atheon's difficulty (which admittedly was a joke despite having cool mechanics), I felt like Crota is actually too hard for a normal mode raid. And this is coming from someone who's beaten him 7 times.
-
8 RepliesI want to see a raid on Mercury where players need to watch what times they enter into the raid. What I'm getting at is I would love for an environmental challenge where by the surface of the planet is in a perpetual cycle lets say 4 day/night cycles per real life hours. In order to even land on the planet where the raid takes place you would have to wait and time your start to be in the sunset faze so you can physically land there. Also make a part where the entire team needs to out run the sun rise (chronicles of riddick style) to get to the last fight and if you fall behind you get vaporized and hope that your team can out run it and make it to the safety zone.

VoG is a much MUCH better raid than Crota's End. It feels like a full experience and much more fleshed out. Crota's End is just Traverse the Abyss, cross the bridge, kill the Wizard, kill Crota. It feels very rushed. I've done it 7 times and if I never did it again I'd be fine. VoG? I'll still run that because even though those guns and armor are obsolete now, it's tons of fun to play.
-
I agree! It feels like half of Crota's End is fun, the other half is a painful grind. I personally loved the abyss maze, fighting off waves of Thralls with your pals - desperately trying to reach the Light. The Totem bridge was less intense, but it was still an interesting puzzle that me and my friends enjoyed figuring out and beating. What killed it for me is everything past that encounter. First you got the Wizard who has to be killed in a time limit, while dodging hallowed sword knights who'll -blam!- you up, all the while trying to complete each step roughly in sync - all of this once done receiving no loot which is bullshit considering it's basically the third 'boss' encounter. Then Crota.. I mean, he's cool, but Atheon's fight felt more engaging and epic. In this it's really only epic for the sword dude beating on Crota for that split second, while everyone else plays shoot the sword carrier, then sit and wait.

Yea new raid feels half assed and VOG is amazing.
