[i]u fookin' wot, m8?[/i] No, [b]HUSH UP.[/b] You listen here. [b]And you listen real close, you little [u]nothing.[/u][/b] Do you have any idea how long [i]I[/i] had waited for my Hawkmoon? How much I dedicated myself to this gun? I've wanted it-nay, [u]lusted[/u] for it since they announced it. You know why I have a PS4? Here's an accurate summary of why: 20% Because Xbox friends said they'd migrate 30% Because of best friend being on console 10% Because of the beta coming earlier than on Xbox [b]40% Because of the Hawkmoon being PS-Exclusive.[/b] I dedicated myself to the Hand Cannon. I practically gave both my testicles to it on a silver platter during the beta. That's right-I spent the [b]entire beta[/b] weilding that weapon. When nobody knew what it was, but thought it sucked, until me and my buddy [b]decimated[/b] with it in conjunction with snipe. It was my freaking dream to acquire all Hand Cannons and master them, like I were Ash aspiring to be a Pokemon master. Alas, that dream took many days to come to fruition. I received the Renegade MK. 56 with increased reload speed upon a successful precision kill in the first week of the game's release. It sustained my existence until the Thorn fell into my lap mid-September. People condemned the Thorn. Said it was [b]garbage.[/b] I believed the contrary. The Thorn was perfectly fine before the buff. A little too good as it were before, if you ask me. Now it's little more than a Hive abomination that dares enter the realm of the Suros. Its one saving grace now is that it still requires the wielder to actually [b]learn[/b] the weapon. But I digress. The Thorn had become a trusted friend to me. So it was a shame that I was forced to shelve it once I received The Last Word from a Tiger Strike game at 1am in early October. It became the weapon-nay, the instrument in which I fought the AR/Shotgun infested Crucible with. I taught the weapon how to fight in mid range battles more effectively, and that just because it was fully automatic, doesn't mean that firing it semi-automatically was not the better way to fire. In exchange, it safeguarded me from shotguns. TLW filled the void...but I could tell that it steadily grew. I could feel my hunger for the Hawkmoon becoming more...pronounced. It began to tire me. Eat away at me. I started playing less. Doing more things IRL aside from things I [i]had[/i] to do. I couldn't even be in the same server as someone with it, because it hurt that they were using my signature weapon. And if I caught someone in Rumble using it... [b]No mercy.[/b] Even after they switched back to the Suros. I didn't get the Hawkmoon until after 23+ days of play time across 3 Characters. And the irony? I didn't get it from the Raid. Not the Nightfall. Not the Strike Playlist. Not even an engram. I got it from doing Rumble, my second most played playlist, right after Skirmish. It was 3am on a Saturday, and I was freaking out. A grown man was in tears over receiving a 3D render of a fictional weapon. What's even more astounding is that it dropped [i]the day[/i] Xur sold TLW to the public. It's as if RNGesus and Bungie themselves told me that the saga of TLW being my signature weapon was over, and that my fight had finally ended. This was early November. To this day, I still have to remind myself that it's really in my inventory and not just another dream of having it. For a solid week, when I was out and about and not playing Destiny, I had to friggin' check the app to make sure it was still there. My sanity would have broken down into shards and energy if it were another dream. But it wasn't. The journey to the Hawkmoon was a cold, harrowing one...for me. I hope it isn't for you. [b]However...[/b] I wasn't Ash any longer. I didn't [b]dream[/b] of catching them all and becoming a master. I actually did it. No, I wasn't the Ash Ketchum of Destiny. I became [b]Red[/b] awaiting you at the top of MT. Silver. I would have lost my mind if not for The Last Word dropping in October from a Tiger Strike and Thorn in September. Those, and my Renegade MK. 56 are what kept me together. As a rite of passage, I changed my XBL gamertag to [b]"Hawkborne"[/b], since I could not change my PSN name. Thanks for reading.
