I would rather look like a badass in combat instead of wearing gear just for stats. What do you guys think? I've meet other players who just want to get to 30 but dont wear what they like. Also they should make shaders for sparrows. EDIT They could invent some kind of vanity slot
EDIT: Wow this post is getting popular Keep on commenting I enjoy your responses

Its a damn shame we cant just change the look of the armor while keeping the stats.
-
Nope. If they come out with a my little pony princess dress, with clown shoes, pink gloves, and a bird nest head piece that gave me a higher level, I would own that shit. I wouldn't be happy about it but I would.

I go for looks but I'm no dummy I usually have a backup set for when I need to get shit done.

This guy right here. I'm hoping to get raid gear chest piece because I think the one at the vendors look terrible. Why? I prefer symmetry and the torn robe looks like a torn skirt. I even think the new raid chest piece looks terrible (at least for warlocks anyway). The collar is so high it looks like a muffin or cupcake wrapping. I'm hoping that I get this, or until I find starfire protocol or Praxie fire. But even then I'm not a fan of the priest look... Vfang has been probably my favorite looking chest piece so far in Destiny as an open robe with an armor chest piece (check my profile). With the IB gauntlets and pants, and the vex helmet. I look distinguished haha. Only thing I bought so far are the vanguard boots for auto rifle ammo. Matches my VFang vestments in the default colors perfectly. I'm going to hate letting go of this look for new gear.

Well I get both but mostly for looks as well

Me! I always struggle with armour, take the warlock vanguard/crucible helms for example. The first one is possibly tge most useful to me but it is fugly with a double chin. So ill be getting a different one unless ib brings a good one.

1 ReplyThis is a constant struggle for me. I love what my Armamentarium provides my Titan (hands down the best exotic for the Titan) but I can't stand the yellow camo. It leaves me with only the broadsword shader as a decent option ... damn my vanity
-
That titan vanguard chest is sick with the fur
-
I hate both vanguard titan helmets. So f-in ugly. I still like my raid helm better

I look good no matter what harry potter....uhh i mean my warlock is wearing sooooo stats

Yes appearance is a factor for me in most games Ive played where you can customize your appearance and equipment. However Ill suck it up and play with the best gear stat wise over appearance if it really plays a pivotal role in helping me progress in the game. Dark Souls 2 for example but If I can, ill go with look. Destiny the stats are so important than most games ive played I just equip whatever is needed and have to drop or not use something I prefer the apperance of haha Cloaks and Shaders seems to be the less penalizing way to adjust your look unless a bounty or special event requires you to wear specifics..
-
its a mixture of both for me
-
Hell yeah! Fashion over function!
-
I buy for looks i could care less about stats
-
I buy for perks

2 RepliesI bought the young ahamkaras spine for the looks. Turns out they're incredibly useful

Gotta look FABULOUS

I only buy armor that I think looks good. I even grinder through iron banner just to get the gauntlets and leg armor to go with my crest of alpha lupi.
-
As longing as you're kicking and taking names, the goddamn starting armor looks as badass as raid gear.
-
Shaders. Done.
