You are NOT locked out from Nightfall/Heroic
This week has a DLC strike for it. Just wait until next week, hot damn. Everyone I see posting about is moaning and complaining they can't play the game anymore.

Actually if you look at yhe weekly/nightfall at the top it says you have to complete the eris story line to be able do those strikes. So does it show up like that for people without the expansion as well? If it does then it means people without the expansion are locked out completely from the weekly/nightfall until they get the expansion and complete the eris story line.

This raises a question about daily heroic story. Will the new missions be put in rotation, locking non dlc out of that daily as well?

13 Replies20% of the time non-DLC players will be locked out of Nightfall/Heroic. Bungie have already stated on twitter it is in rotation and will continue to be so. (why the -blam!- bungie cant post on its own site is beyond me) So yeah, non-DLC players will have 20% less coin, 20% less chances to get exotics 20% more frustration and 200% most posting all around the internet how -blam!-ed up bungie is. The standard gaming practice is to host a secondary event for those who purchased the game and did not purchase the DLC.... And for a game only 3 months old this is -blam!-ing shameful of bungie, they are purposely creating a two tier world where it is PAY TO PLAY. If the box said it was a game that requires premium content upgrades to continue playing we would not be having this discussion.

A few weeks ago I paid the required $60 fee and opened a bank account. Then last week they told me i couldn't access my money for that week because I didn't pay for the additional "always available premium" bank service that they added for $20. Did I complain? NO because I knew that I would be able to access it again the next week so it's not a big deal. Sure some weeks i won't be able to access my money and pay for food, rent, or bills, but that will [b][i]only[/i][/b] be on random weeks so its no big deal. Besides if I really wanted to access the service I paid for then I would just pay the $20.

I have the dlc and love it. However, I feel that they should have not added the new strike to the weekly playlist. The best way to solve this would be to make two playlists one being the original and the other including dlc and to incentiveise people to buy the dlc make it have higher chances to drop better items. Taking basic features away from the vinillia game is wrong even if it's just every month or so.

2 RepliesOP couldn't be a more retarded fanboy if he tried. They locked us out on purpose, the bullshit about it just being for the week is just that. They could easily have made a separate playlist, they did it to encourage sales of the DLC. That's why they also nerfed Tiger Strike playlist. And now they locked vanilla users out of the daily heroic as well. Effectively cutting off all farming sources. So either quit playing the game or give them more money. Classy. This is the dirtiest marketing tactic I can remember....

But this week Bungie, 3 months into the life of the game, took two huge parts of the game from the people who don't have DLC. People without DLC cannot access those parts of the game. Additionally, you can no longer run strikes to get something as simple as engrams. Some of you might say it is only a week, but it is a fundamental business decision by Bungie and Activision. Tuesdays and Thursdays become meaningless unless you pay up. Unless you pay, you lose content you already paid for. We ALL despise EA for much less. If this model catches on, gaming is going to be worse off. Again, before anyone defends it as business, EVERY SINGLE OTHER GAME uses DLC and non DLC rotations to maintain content for the people who didn't buy the DLC. This is the same thing as if Battlefield decided to only allow DLC rotation maps in multiplayer. "Just pay up, it's only a few bucks" no. I already paid a few bucks for this content. That is NOT the direction I want gaming to go, so I refuse to support this business model."

2 RepliesThe nightfall and daily don't bother me at all. It's like what maybe 5 days out of the month and i can't do the daily and 1 week out of a month I can't do the nightfall maybe? (Just pulling those numbers out of my ass but I'm assuming it won't be much more than that) the only thing I think was dirty is the fact that you can no longer buy any legendary gear in the tower anymore. Making leveling after 20 much more difficult since now you are 100% at the mercy of RNG. I plan on getting the dlc for xmas so I'll just play gta till then lol But I can see people being upset, but not because you have to wait till Tuesday to do a weekly or nightfall. But here is a question I leveled up my crucible rank and got a legendary sniper rifle from dlc. Can I not use that? I haven't tried yet cuz I just logged off to wait till next week to play.

7 RepliesIf you have not bought the dlc, you obviously have no intention of doing so, and so the potential return on bungies investment from catering to you from here on out is nil. They already have your money for the base game, thank you, so long, talk to you again when we are trying to sell you destiny 2. The pool of consumers who may still have money in their pockets with bungies name on it are those who have bought dlc one, but maybe not dlc 2 if they didnt buy via season pass. So I don't blame them one bit for catering to purchasers of the first dlc. Also remember that the nightfall didnt exist when we first started playing the game. It was given to you for free as an add on some time after launch. Regardless of how much you are butthurt over not being able to play the weeklies, you have no right to complain about them tailoring content which you didnt pay for to people who continue to support them financially.

1 ReplyActually, i am. But for unrelated reasons. Just got xb1, moved my acc to this new console downloaded dlc blah blah blah did everything. However, when i go to play, all i can do is missions and the daily. Everything else, literally everything, is blocked out by saying i dont have the expansion or live (which i obviously have both) i can run around the tower wth other players fine, but im unable to participate in any multiplayer aspects of this game. HELP!!!!!!!

We make it so that there are 4 weeklys every 3-4 weeks the normal 2 for vanilla players and an extra 2 when a DLC strike comes up. giving people who bought the DLC more chances of exotics and more strange coins while keeping people who didn't still doing these activities. That is until people who don't have that extra chance claim its unfair...
