Not for the first time I've just finished a Vanguard Tiger strike with some absolute cnt who will stand and wait for the other 2 of us to clear each section, then follow along afterwards and wait outside the next section til we clear it. The strike took about 25 minutes when it would have taken 10 or less with the 3 of us playing properly. So what's the point? What benefit is there? It's a false economy, drawing a strike out so that you don't have to put any effort it. It's the action of a retard.
I just stood there for 30 seconds punching him and shooting him with The Vex Mythoclast once the boss died. He was dancing, so he clearly knew how much of a nob he was being and reveled in it.
All I can think is that they are doing it to easily earn the 'Finish a srike without dying bounty'
Well i just got that bounty with just the two of us. So if you suck that much that you can't get it without inacivity throughout the whole strike then you don't deserve to play. Infact you deserve to die, for being so shite at a game. fking Amateurs.
Hope they never put matchmaking on the Raid and I hope they remove matchmaking from everything except the multi.
Having said that, doing it all via Destiny LFG the same thing can happen. The other day I was in a Raid and somebody quit a team of level 30's after the first chest. There is too much focus on Co op. Bungie, get to work on some AI bots. This is the issue that'll eventually stop me playing if it's not sorted.

Who cares. Stop playing then.
-
People do it to avoid having to grind. Once the new Commendation system hits, it will get even worse.
-
1 Replyno joke, i did strikes from 5 to 8 and every single time there would be someone that wouldnt participate, luckily they never got anything good..

5 RepliesI actually found someone shooting into the loot cave a couple weeks ago. 2 things came to mind: Leave him alone or mess with him. I couldn't believe someone was that ignorant. I decided to walk into the cave and dance. He became impatient and started to melee me. I grew hunger so I took the nearby remote to my TV and placed it on my analog stick. I sat there spinning in circles in the corner of the cave. Totally worth it.

2 RepliesThey should implement team boot. Someone initiates the boot and the other members have to agree with majority winning. So situations like this no longer happen.
-
If they don't finish with at least 25 kills or 25 assists it should not provide any rewards or count toward a bounty. If they don't get an assist at least every 5 mins it should boot them.
-
Simple fix. Combine the kill this boss with don't die bounty. They will have to get a hit on the boss for it to count.
-
Easy reason: You don't have to perform well to get rewards. It's a random loot system, so just like welfare, people exploit the system.

Edited by Lazuliv: 12/8/2014 5:30:13 PMI'm too busy speed running to notice.

6 RepliesHad a guy crawl into a hole and hide during the Nexus boss in a Tiger strike even though all three people were 30. Ended up finishing it with just me and one other guy fighting, and I got an exotic as one of my rewards.
-
Totally with you on that one!! But earlier I played strikes and the other two where running through it like crazy. I scan for ammunition and stuff after clearing an area so I'm always behind. I did my part though when I caught up. Still, twice a guy shot at me at the end, which I guess is not a gesture of friendship. I'm not slow, I'm just not rushing it like crazy...

I hate it when this crap happens, was actually doing the "complete any strike without dying" and a Level 30....YES Level 30 did exactly what you described. Hung out close enough to watch but never participated. It was the Valas Ta'Aurc strike which sucks anyway but took twice as long with only 2 players active. They need to change the bounty to "complete any strike without dying and having xx-# of kills in the darkness zone" something to end this crap.
-
I don't seem to get this problem a lot if ever. It's still isn't too much of a challenge with two or even solo. I get your point though. It seems like a cheap way to go things and it would be quicker if they helped out but as long as they can get away with it they will.
-
I believe they are doing it for free marks. Since they get the what, 5 marks? each time they finish they can join a game and sit back until its done. Collect their Marks and move on. Its not just for the bounty. There should be a way to vote kick or report these players though. I feel sorry for the pain of PUG's. Find 2 friends and run that way i guess. Good luck.
-
honestly. if the other people I am with dont move at the beginning. I dont go. I go to orbit and find another match.
-
4 RepliesThat is exactly why we DO NOT need raid match making!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited by Vance67: 12/8/2014 4:45:18 PMI want to preface this with I usually stay in orbit if I cannot play right away and I hate players who do nothing while others complete the strike, I will leave them by themselves (I usually play with someone) and restart the strike if my buddies don't mind. One time I had to text someone. My buddy and I were playing with a random. My buddy went ahead and the random just hung around me punching me. He wouldn't help my friend. I started to move forward and joined the fight, again I needed to stop. the random punched me and stayed with me, I invited him to the chat numerous times but he would not enter because he was a little b1tch. My friend knows I never do this and had things I needed to do, I stopped about 3 times and the random would not move until I did. We finally get to the Nexus and my buddy and I are sniping from the top, the random pushes me down, which is just rude but not a big deal. We kill of the minotaurs and the random goes and runs behind the wall you can hide behind on the ground level and sits there while we kill the nexus and everything else. I wanted to leave with my buddy, but he needed to complete it for a bounty and it was late. This is honestly the one time since day 1 with the game I needed to do this and I couldn't believe the guy would make such a big deal about me standing there and then wouldn't kill the Nexus and he wouldn't accept any of my 8 invites to the party chat cause he was scared. We completed the strike and he came out to dance like the a$$ he is. I just needed to vent I would like it if there were a "vote to kick player" thing. Like I said, this is honestly the only time i have done anything like this, sometimes there are things people need to d, but if they know ahead of time they should not enter the strike UNLESS they can communicate what they are doing, again he wouldn't join the chat and every PS4 comes with a headset, so we know he has one and I think most Destiny players use one. Something has to be done. These people who do this regularly are ruining the experience that Bungie tries to make so great. They have patched things to make the experience the way they want, but have not fixed this which IMO is a bigger problem then people going under the platform in the Akron priest which is a strategy not an exploit. I do not believe a kick button would be good because of the situations like above or people who just need a few minutes, but rather a vote or inactivity setting. No one on a strike should be inactive for a minute or more, but even that could be exploited. And if there were 2 people who were in a fireteam wanting one person to do it, that one person could just leave. This is probably the thing I hate most about strikes, something needs ot be done On a side note, to the people saying run them over with a Sparrow, please only do that to AFKers. I was in the summoning pits trying to complete do a strike without dying, when I got to the first room ,someone ran me over with a sparrow and killed me. I was not AFK, I have no problem with doing that to AFKers, but can people stop doing that to people they are playing with please, it's annoying and not needed

7 RepliesThey're level 24 Vanguard Strikes. Who cares if someone just stands around and does nothing? They are quite easy to duo or even solo.
-
This is very timely. I'm seeing quite a bit of this sort of behavior in the tiger strikes. Over the weekend I saw: - Titan runs about 1/3 of the strike and bail just as it hit the fun part. Guess he picked up the bounty he wanted. - Another Warlock tried to complete the entire Devils Lair strike without leaving his sparrow. - Multiple players staying way behind the action just to farm kills...only to show up just before the final kill is made (and then talk smack about getting so many kills).
-
Only strike that I hate to solo is valus just because it takes soo long to kill him
-
The only way to get around these problems are go in with friends 1 or 2..we don't care what the other players do..The only thing I can't stand is dummy sewing up tiger strike for the bounty...If they read it ..it's says any strike without dying...so you just need to pick a low one to get it done..Run with a clan or friends and be done with the nonsense
-
Must be you, I have never had this happen...
-
run them over with your sparrow, you'll get a reaction...
-
Bump I ran about 10 strikes in a row yesterday and in 3 of them I had that special guy sitting there doing nothing, just quit, next..
-
7 RepliesI had a a guy doing this on the Archon Priest level. It took me a little while to figure out what he was doing but, then at the end he would just wait up by the rocks. So instead of killing the priest I would kill all the adds then go up screw around with him and try to push him down into the action. Eventually he just quit then I finished off the priest. No easy rewards for you sir.
