You just made your game irrelevant.
Thank You bungie, after over 400 hours (EDIT: 500 apparently) spent on this, next update will make it all obsolete. Only 3 months after release you do what real MMOs do after 2 years with 20 times more content to justify the grind. Instead on building on my previous work I have to basically start over to the point that someone can buy the game now and catch up with me within a few weeks. I am a super hardcore player and I am thinking of quitting, what do you think casual players or normal regular ones will do? Destiny will be a ghost town.. This a big joke, every non exotic raid weapons I fought so much to get will be made obsolete by the new vanguard ones we can just buy...I have to relevel all my exotics and I can only do it one at a time and they take forever to level. Oh and my hundreds of ascended shards and energy are now obsolete too because only Vanguard and Crucible stuff still use it.WOW, just WOW....
EDIT: The level of stupidity here is OUTRAGING, Destiny is NOT an MMO and shouldn't be treated like one. Content is tiny and spending hundreds of hours in it is a huge amount of time compared to the actual amount of content
EDIT 2: For those of you retarded enough to think I don't know what irrelevant means let me clarify: Those changes make the game so tedious and frustrating that it becomes pointless to play it thus making it irrelevant to it's purpose of entertaining and "redefine" de fps genre.
Edit 3: BTW this is the first time I ever complain and God knows this game has things to complain about so keep the stop crying BS to yourself, I love this game and want it to stay good, Bungie guys say they want our feedbacks so I gave mine, one shared with A LOT of players. So add something constructive or STFU.
Edit 4: If you are illiterate to the point of thinking I am actually saying I don't want more content, let me clear this up: The dark Below add very little content in exchange of A LOT of grind. This is the problem. Honestly I wouldn't mind paying a lot more for this game and have an ACTUAL BIG AMOUNT OF CONTENT to a least grind in a greater variety of locations and activities.

2 RepliesI think your hysteria is a bit overboard, but I do kind of agree with you. My NSHO is that Xur should have sold upgrade kits and that be the only way to upgrade your exotics and legendaries. They could have left everything at 300 max attack and 30 light. Buy a kit off Xur and upgrade weapons at the gunsmith. He is a gunsmith isn't he? Go to the outfitter to upgrade your armor. Would actually make those vendors useful. They could still introduce new designs, but that let's us pick and keep the weapons and armor we like best

I think you should spend some of that time with your cats. all jokes aside if you don't like the game you always have the option of quitting. what are you really going to do once you max out? you just want to keep doing the same raids over and over staying level 30? I would much rather have constant work to do. this whole look at me I'm 30 (soon to be boasting 32) and I run raids and get the same drops. weapons, raising the level cap, new crap to do. that is what the game is about. I am not knocking raids if that's what you like to do all the power to you. some people don't. sounds like you are not enjoying your game and that's the problem.

You think it sucks for you hey ? I don't have so many hours to play a game I do really love. But now I don't have the time to do the stuff I really want to do. I play a few hours a day, maybe 8 - 12 at the weekend. All I want to do is raid, crucible, iron banner etc(The best parts of the game). Now I find myself (like everyone else) releveling rep and gear to try and get back to a decent level (even to do nightfall). At least you have the time/hours to do these things quicker and enjoy the best parts of the game. For me it's just getting tedious since the expansion.

Exotics take TOO LONG to upgrade. I just resented 4 exotics with Xur to get the new damage upgrade but my energy did not reset to do it all over again , and again with the next dlc and again and again and again.

10 RepliesYou have not been punished...for any new players that get this game you were going to take some sort of sick pleasure in them leveling the gun up to 300 the same way we did...and then once they got there you want them to have to reset everything and do it again? Consider it a badge of honor that you did things the hard way and they get to be the lucky ones. Keep in mind...there is no punishment about it...we are given the CHOICE to upscale our weapons...if we want to exercise that choice...there is a cost. As for the progress to max the gun...what if they let you keep your current progress but added a second skill tree that was going to take just as long as it will when you reset an exotic the way it is about to be. It would be the same thing except noobs that just got the game would have a huge hill to climb to be able to play the higher level aspects of this game which everyone should be able to enjoy. Think of how long you used the items you spoke of and how much use you got out of leveling it up all the way. Now if you want to continue using it on 30+ portions of this game you need to level it some more...this is nothing crazy really...expecting anything other then this seems crazy to me at this point. Bungie did not say as you put it "Oh I see you put XXX hours and resources into said gun. Come talk to Xur and reset your experience on said gun to zero so it can remain relevant for a while longer, till the next DLC." what they said is the guns and gear you like most and want to upscale this is how you will go about doing that...and the guns and gear you don't want you can sell. The guns are relevant still and will always be able to be relevant if you want them to be...it is a choice. How can you act like this is a slap in the face to DAY ONE players who put the time in. Why must you view it from that angle. People who didn't buy the game on day one deserve to suffer through what you suffered? With that logic, me being a veteran...I should want people to have to suffer what I suffered just because? Not a chance my friend...I would rather they take my word for it. Just like new players should take your word for it that you were playing this game when we had it rough...and laugh at how they have it easy. But still keeping in mind...we don't exactly have it hard at this point...we will be able to upscale the items we want and it will not be nearly as bad as any of the grinding you had done previously.

NEWS FLASH: Vendors already sell gear that will get you to level 28 at least, 29 with an exotic item. What about the highest level armor? Oh yeah, you have to earn it. "but I spent 3 months getting to level 30, it isn't fair!" Who cares? If someone else gets to level 30 in 2 hours, it doesn't effect you. You had fun getting to level 30. "Fun? whats fun?" - "Enjoyment, amusement, or lighthearted pleasure." Feel free to enlighten me on how someone else being level 30 affects you in any way.

I think you're wrong about the MMO part, they SHOULD treat it like an MMO; no MMO that I've ever played has disrespected their community like this. When a new raid (not expansion, a new raid) comes out in WoW, they [i]do not[/i] make gear from the previous tier or higher any easier to attain, because its: a) a slap in the face to the people who actually geared in in the previous raid b) makes the previous raid [i]completely obsolete[/i]. [b]Why would you do that to your content?[/b] Every tier of raid in WoW requires you to gear up in the previous tier to get your item level high enough to take it on. They don't hand out welfare loot every time they release one.

Ghost town is going a bit far. But yes I feel like they broke their system somewhat. I mean exotics start at 30 light now... That used to be their max. And with the tower gear now being better than RAID gear and IB gear, everybody playing this game will have a lvl 31 character within two weeks. I understand bungie wants people playing the dlc as soon as they can, but it really made any work done before the dlc totally a waste. It's up to you to decide if you want to start the grind over again

None of what bothers you here bothers me. To me the point is the grind and not the destination. I enjoy leveling new guns and frankly would get bored if I kept using the same guns or armor over and over again. To me the games not about the destination of getting to 30/32 or whatever the highest level is but, the journey getting there. I'm pumped to have new weapons and armor and could care less if someone new can get to the same level as me. Yeah they may get to 31 but, probably don't have nearly the amount of exotics. I don't know to each their own. By no means am I judging just my opinion of what the game means to me. Is it the best game I've ever played maybe not but, I've had s ton of fun and it is addicting. I've put a ton of time in and still enjoy it and still feel like I have a ton to accomplish. For that I got my money's worth.
