I just realized it's pointless to get to level 30 before DLC
I posted this thread about 4 weeks ago
"This week about three of my friends hit level 30, and 2 got the Vex Mythoclast. I admit I was envious at first but then I realized that I'll still be able to get raid gear From Crota's End that will bump me up to 30 maybe even 31, plus one new exotic will get me to 32, meaning the VoG will become useless.

Edit: just heard normal raid will actually be 30, hard will be 32
Edit 2: there will be other ways to get to 30 in the Dark Below besides Raid and Banner. So it really is pointless to to get to 30 before DLC"
The amount of hate I received on this thread was unreal. But look. Look at me now. I was right. Maybe not about getting the gear from Crota's End, but there was no point in rushing to level 30 before the DLC, I've already bought the vanguard gloves and will need just one more piece to get to level 30. (Already have 53 vanguard marks, I'll have enough 2 tiger strikes later. I'll have achieved level 30 with only 3 complete VoG clears, and no iron banner. I've heard that they're not even scaling up the VoG legendaries (probably false). Heck I can get higher than level 30 just by buying gear. The VoG Hard Mode won't be nearly as hard as a level 31 1/2. Even if they scale the difficulty up though, there was no reason to grind the Vault to level 30 before the DLC.
Edit 2: Full set of CE Raid Gear. Didn't even need the tower crap.

5 RepliesAnyone that waits to level up is playing the game like a job, rather than for fun. I have over 60 raid clears, and obviously a lot of those were for no reward, and just for the fun of it. Even if the raids gave out vanguard gear, i'd still play them because it's the most enjoyable part of the game for me.

Ive explained it 1000 times before so im not going to explain again but all i can say is its not pointless and VoG will not become useless. Stop just seeing this game as a shooter, because it is not. It is an rpg as well as multiplayer online, it is not call of duty, nor is it world of warcraft, but they borrow so many things from standard mmos most of you just honestly cannot understand what even you yourself are talking about when it comes to the game.

3 RepliesBeing 30 before does matter. In the current raid all the enemies in the Atheon room at level 28 for normal mode. It stands to reason that the new raids boss room will hold level 30 enemies. Meaning 28's will do 40% less damage and the team takes 10% more damage per level, per person under 30. Get to 30 now bro

4 Repliesplanet destiny isn't the best source of information, and having the raid top out 1 level higher than the player level cap makes no sense. It will likely be either 28/32 or slightly less likely 30/32.

It's all speculation - but if you go with what Bungie has already established, the new normal raid should be 28 and Hard will be set at the cap - 32....just like the Hard VoG is at the current cap of 30.

You know how it is with hard mode vog people won't take people under 30. Even if it changed to 28 for easy people will still only take 30s hence why I made sure I was 30 before the dlc

Lol no one knows what it's gonna be. So wait until next Tuesday and see. Good lord be patient. And good luck doing the next raids not being level 30 lol you probably haven't even done this one legit

5 RepliesI don't think they've said anything about it but I would bet that they eventually put out a Lvl 32 version of the vault with lvl 32 vault gear to keep the vault viable.

I can't understand your logic being that you have not spent much effort into the current content to even be thinking about DLC end game.

4 RepliesVOG unless? You do know there is a chest in that raid that gives you an exotic for free? Almost a chance that LB would drop a random exotic. So two chances to get an exotic. I'm guessing the same for the new raid. Plus a chance on the nightfall. So that's 5 chances to get a exotic drop. 5! A week. Per toon. So with three toons. That's 15 a week. So after this raid, we all should be getting a lot more.

2 RepliesIt is pointless to worry about level at all at this stage of the game. Look at it this way.. The quicker you get 3 characters to 30- the less there is to do in Destiny. I'm not saying go have picnic's at the tower.. But damn.. People are hardcore about their levels, on a confused, quasi-MMO shooter that's hasn't even been out for 6 months. Deep breath..... Gooooz Faaah Braaaaah

2 RepliesYeah but it would be nice to run the new raid as a 30 instead of a 28 or 29, plus the raid weapons are geared toward the weaknesses of the enemies in the next raid. I'm not 30 yet either, but I would like to be there before dlc just to keep myself moving as soon as it drops.

1 ReplyI'm sure it will be much easier to get through the LVL 28 raid as a 30 though. Plus you'll get much better rewards for the hard raid which you won't get through as a 28 soooooooooooo have fun buddy.
