I swear to Oryx if one more bottom feeding, useless, sandbag 0.0434034030 K/D trash gets the Gjallarhorn...
The third time now I have seen the WORST player in the lobby get the Gjallarhorn. literally fed the other team kill after kill with his thumb up his ass and he gets rewarded with one of the best exotics in the game. Meanwhile my incessant backpacking of randoms gets me NOTHING like usual...
-blam!- this piece of shit reward system, I'm going to start playing with my TV turned off and my hands tied behind my back because why the -blam!- not?
And yes, before you get the smart idea to point out it's random, I know that. The main point of this post is to highlight how doing good should give you a higher chance of a good reward. People should not have the same chance for being rewarded with exotics for doing absolutely nothing helpful for their team compared to the person(s) who does all the work.

Most of the people saying it's fair or I'm crying have K/Ds below 1.0. Is there a correlation? I think so!
EDIT 2: Welcoming suggestions from people who have ideas on how to possibly make the loot system better, so it actually rewards you for doing well.
EDIT 3: No shut up meg posts yet... Am I even on the Destiny forums?

EDIT 5: Really, really, interesting idea brought up by SHADOW LEGION. http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hgkcx/rng_vs_private_loot_stream/ check it out, as this could explain the [i]odd[/i] patterns a lot of us are noticing when it comes to drops.

6 RepliesWhat happens when you are a "good player" with a normal top 3 rank at the end of the game usually, but you get into that one game against a full clan and go 3/34 because they're just plain better than you? Is it still fair under your proposed system that this ridiculously good clan mops up all the loot whenever they play? Random is the most fair for everyone. I've seen plenty of times where the top guy gets the exotic and no one else gets anything, but no one says that's bullshit! The whole "get good scrub" mentality needs to go back to CoD where it belongs...

Yeah was just on the bottom of the list of a rumble match and got hard light. :-). Everyone was running around with shotguns so I don't feel bad about it.

Anyvvho, I vvill say that I did get an exotic (Hard Light) from going #2 in Rumble vvith over 20 kills, but the 2nd TO LAST place also got an exotic that match (MIDA). The irony of it vvas that I vvas playing Crucible for the Bad Juju bounty. Thanks for posting this, it's nice seeing all the great ideas people have for the loot systems. edit: Yes, those are Vs. My "VV" key doesn't vvork... edit 2: Forgot to mention that I did receive Ice Breaker from going MVP in Iron Banner.

With Destiny's Teen rating and its minimal to no swearing it is quite obvious who the target audience is. Destiny was a game designed for kids, like little kids. It has a very simple campaign and even the raid is easy enough for a still developing brain to understand. The drops and loot are completely random, which means no skill is required to get the good stuff. The creators may have done a great job at making it fair for everyone, but I personally think its really stupid. Bungie, fix your ****, and reward the good players for all the hard work they put in. P.S. if another player with a k/d under 0.1 gets an exotic before me then I am quitting. Like actually...

Yeah the "reasons" are compete crap... Never had an exotic weapon drop & I play quite a bit in both realms. Maybe according to your 5th edit, I am too much of a rounded player to have anything of value ever drop for me... Seriously, this games loot system is a joke, don't care if it's RNG, PLS, LOL, PMS, NFL, AFK, whatever... It sucks

My friend who plays like once every two weeks got Gjallahorn from nightfall. I instead got a patience and time that i already had two of.

I know you guys might hate on me but I like the reward system as it is. But as for me I always place top or 2nd and 3rd. Btw I got gjallarhorn in the IB and placed top last week.

I do well consistently. I have video of me winning an iron banner game with over a 2 kd, and receiving the MIDA multi tool. It goes both ways. Besides man. Your BEST bet to get exotics are not in the crucible. When they are dropped, they are few and far in between. And totally random.

2 RepliesWe all have to start somewhere. No one is awesome from the beginning. It's called practice and patience. Why do you care so much about other players? Are you being paid to have great stats? I see no other rational reason to be so ticked off by crappy players if you aren't actually losing anything in REAL LIFE. Calm down. It's a GAME.

1 ReplyIt's even worse when you'd played 550+ matches like I have, haven't gotten anything (but that's how RNG works) in the last 150 matches, yet I saw someone get P&T one match, and the next match get Hawkmoon and they had 1 kill and 23 deaths. I understand it's chance based. I do. But that's not exactly 'building a legend' if you're saying 'oh yeah I was feeding the enemy team on purpose and got exotics lol'

1 ReplyI was a 28 with 27 kills and I was in second place and got it. Is this bad...? But yeah. I really hate that. Friggin nubs getting exotics just for participating. here I am with rank 3 in the Iron Banner and sure I'm rewarded with the Exotic, but they're not even a rank 1 and they get it? So stupid...I've seen nubs getting legendary engrams. And I have only gotten 1 ever in the Crucible. What crap is this?

I've gotten exotics in first and the bottom 3. I play a lot of control and the moment I switch to clash for a couple of games with friends I receive truth. We know it's random. But maybe it has something to do with variety.
