The third time now I have seen the WORST player in the lobby get the Gjallarhorn. literally fed the other team kill after kill with his thumb up his ass and he gets rewarded with one of the best exotics in the game. Meanwhile my incessant backpacking of randoms gets me NOTHING like usual...
-blam!- this piece of shit reward system, I'm going to start playing with my TV turned off and my hands tied behind my back because why the -blam!- not?
And yes, before you get the smart idea to point out it's random, I know that. The main point of this post is to highlight how doing good should give you a higher chance of a good reward. People should not have the same chance for being rewarded with exotics for doing absolutely nothing helpful for their team compared to the person(s) who does all the work.
EDIT: Just finished a match and guess what? http://imgur.com/EHEFMoG
Most of the people saying it's fair or I'm crying have K/Ds below 1.0. Is there a correlation? I think so!
EDIT 2: Welcoming suggestions from people who have ideas on how to possibly make the loot system better, so it actually rewards you for doing well.
EDIT 3: No shut up meg posts yet... Am I even on the Destiny forums?
EDIT 4: Really enjoying the ideas for changing the loot system people are coming up with. Keep it up guys!
Cool idea from Octavius on how to improve the loot system, you can see it on his original post http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/78978218/0/0
EDIT 5: Really, really, interesting idea brought up by SHADOW LEGION. http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hgkcx/rng_vs_private_loot_stream/ check it out, as this could explain the odd patterns a lot of us are noticing when it comes to drops.

1 ReplyCompletely agree. In the IB a kid on the bottom of the list who's name had something to do with Minecraft got the "Birth of History" Jumpship and he had 2 assists, 0 kills, and 8 deaths. This really needs to be fixed....
-
Yeah man...I hate 'em! Thay stank!!

1 ReplyBottom player on each team should never get anything. Random between the others isn't perfect but I'll take it. It's the one complete garbage player who sits in a corner the entire game that I can't abide. That waste of skin should never get a reward, much less a great one. It's pant-on-head retarded.
-
1 ReplyPlay to play and have fun. I love winning but Loot is just a bonus imo. Hopefully they use it to get better.
-
1 ReplyPerhaps a matter of perception bias, but I feel like I've seen more players in the bottom half of the scoreboard receive more exotic gear than those on the top.
-
1 ReplyIts just like in RL where everyone gets a trophy not just the best team.
-
9 RepliesRng bitch
-
I reveived gjallarhorn from an iron banner match when half my team quit. I was highest points on my team with only 2000. I can feel your rage though. I have seen countless people receive exotics and the like from games where they were bottom of the scoreboard, afk or joined the match right seconds from the end. Doesn't bother me too much, I still buy from xur every single week.
-
The rage builds every time this happens to me
-
5 RepliesAs a person with a kd above 2.0 and multiple days of playtime in crucible i have never received ANYTHING valuable in crucible or iron banner. Whoever say its random is wrong. I have seen more than 20 exotics being given to the last or second to last but NEVER to top 3.
-
2 RepliesSo I was completing some bounties just to get rank 2 with new monarchy and this mother-blam!-er with 4-17 got Hard Light. How in a flying -blam!- does someone so damn bad get rewarded so damn good? But 7 matches before that there was lvl 20 Titan and he was fairly good... at dying. This guy scored a K/D of 0.19 and he was rewarded Thunderlord and Patience and Time. TWO DAMN EXOTICS IN THE SAME MATCH! HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? The -blam!- Bungie.
-
I don't think it's rng. If that were the case top players would be getting great gear too.
-
1 ReplyI agree, I've seen 4 people get P and P and it's driving me crazy how they were all at the bottom of the board.
-
1 ReplyI have played 841 crucible matches and have only received one exotic, the patience and time. I was first place in that match and also leveled my crucible rank at the end of the match. I am not sure if gaining a rank in the crucible helped ensure the exotic reward or not. In those 841 matches though I have seen many exotics handed out. I think every time an exotic was rewarded besides the one I received the person who got it did absolutely horrible.
-
1 ReplyI don't get the people saying "Oh well, if you change the RNG to skill based, how are the bad players gonna improve their gear?", but I don't see the logic there. In a competetive game, the better players should be rewarded while the worse players are encourage to up their game to get those better rewards.
-
1 ReplyI was lucky enough to get into a lobby where everyone on my team got gjallarhorn :) Except me o__________________o

Edited by Damietriptomine: 12/1/2014 1:35:36 AMI disagree with complainers almost every step of the way, But I too have noticed this. I honestly don't even think it's random. It's almost 9 times out of 10 if anyone get's anything worth useing like an enigram or an exotic, It's one of the lowest ranks on the team. What they should do is Give the 3 highest ranking members on the game a low chance at exotic weapons or gear, VERY low, BUT they are the only ones with a chance regardless of whether their team won. The winning team should all have a chance at legendary. The losing team should get rare's, materials, and strange coins.

This is what happens with one size fits all everyone is a winner PvP. Better players should get better rewards, those that suck - need to ger better. Which im turn is its own reward. I suck at the PvP in this game, but i have a just about positive KD for the time ive spent in it, it baffles me how someone can think rewarding the top players with literally nothing and a player who has spent all match smashing his face against the wall and being shot in the back of the head can get the best gun in in the game as a reward is appropriate.
-
while your OP does smack of bitchy crying, you do make a fine point....the crucible reward system is garbage. i played control for 6 hours the other day...most matches i led my team in kills, assists, points, and had the highest KDR....and i routinely ended up with either nothing, or useless shit. i finally got fed up, and quit, because seriously, wtf's the point of being good at crucible, if it doesn't get you anything? at that point, you're just killing time...sorry, i've got better things to do...

1 ReplyI've seen 3 Ice breakers to ''newbs''. Its pretty disheartening, but at the same time I realize that a system that only rewarded the highest scoring lads would be worse. The parity would be screwed and lesser players would just stop playing, knowing that they'd rpbobably never get rewarded for their efforts (only the few would spend a lot of time on getting better) I cant think of a better loot system myself, but hopefully some creative dudes can come up with something, and hopefully Bungie reads it :)
-
8 RepliesIf you were good you would have gotten it week 2 when xur sold it.
-
5 RepliesEdit 5 explains why I never get anything. I'm always at the top of my team for everything. If I want to get loot I guess I have to consistently do bad.
-
I personally think rng is just fine. But in pvp you shouldn't be eligible for a reward unless you finish the match with a kd of 1.0 or higher. I can understand your frustration. I have been fairly fortunate myself but I can see how that could get old quick.
-
Agreed
-
Obviously game thinks he needs it lol
-
Wait. Are you mocking my K/D. I challenge you to a duel. Mostly because losing pays off better.
