I'm looking for a new set of headphones for around the $100 range. I'm online a LOT. 5+ hours a day, minimum. I have little kids so background noise reduction is a big deal, as is durability. I want surround sound but it doesn't have to be perfect. (Being able to hear the twinkle noise that chests make would be nice though). I've had bad luck with Turtle Beaches so far. What do you all recommend? What do you want to warn me against? I would really appreciate any input! Thank you!
EDIT: I'm on 360. And thanks so far!

Turtle Beach x12s, these are memories to me...

I have an Xbox 1 and use the $60 Microsoft headset designed for the x1. It comes with an adapter as well so you can later upgrade to any headset. It's really good though, I'd recommend it.

Edited by Okomehae: 11/27/2014 4:38:27 AMIf you could find a way to stretch it I would recommend the a40s too man. I got mine about a year ago and love them! I'm thinking that as long I continue to take cater of them that I'll get another 3-4- maybe even 5 years out of them. I've heard lots of stories of people having and using them that long so I don't think it's too long of a stretch. The way I think about it is if it's something I'm going to be using everyday than its better for me to pay more upfront and use it longer (because the build quality and performance are better) than buy something cheaper but replace it quicker and not be as pleased with the performance. If the a40s are about 300 and I use them for 3 or more years that's 100 a year which isn't bad imo for something I'll use most days. Hope that helps man. Sorry I don't have any recommendations for cheaper headsets though. Edit: oh and I will add that you can definitely hear the twinkle of chests and other mats very well with them. If I'm farming I'll just turn my headphones and not bother physically looking around, just focus on running the farming loop and stopping whenever I hear that twinkle lol.

Px51 turtle beach canny fault them quality headset

I use the Xbox One Stereo Headset. It's $80 and its absolutely amazing. It uses the headphone jack adaptor for the x1 so it might work on the 360 w/o the adaptor on. Look it up, if it will work get one. It's amazing.
-
Headsets don't really help that much in this game, i mean are you trying to get them to sound !blam! or are you trying to get good quality sound? Because if you're trying to hear others foot steps in this game you'll only hear your own footsteps louder rather than hearing your enemies footsteps.

I use the standard $60 turtle beaches and they work just fine for me. Great sound quality and people rarely complain about my mic.

Polk headphones are my favorite so far for the price. They are 80 bucks and already a good rep for speakers as a company

3 RepliesI know your price range is $100. But I still would highly recommend getting a pair of Astro A40s. They're the absolute best thing you can get. They can work with computers and consoles at the same time, are incredibly comfortable for extended wear, and have Dolby 5.1surround sound. The microphone is amazing and is pretty good at blocking out outside noises. Also they're really durable headphones. I've had a pair for several years and they work great. You get what you pay for, and in this case its double the price but a much better investment I would say. Also there are some discounts floating around for the holiday season that may bring the prices more in line with what you want.

2 RepliesI'm using the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x. 7.1 DTX surround Mic monitoring Separate game and chat volume 16 audio presets Completely wireless Holds a charge for 15 hours Very comfortable Over the ear noise cancellation ear cups $230 though Worth every penny imo

Hyperx cloud gaming headset. $70 ( big sale for black friday they'll be less) BEST HEADSET I'VE EVER WORN soooo comfy even when worn all day

I have tb x07s. I never had turtle beaches before and i love how you can mute the tv late at night and still hear the game through the headphones! I also love the fact that all you have to do is connect the headset to you control and there you go ! No cables going to your tv!
-
7 RepliesI would recommend the Turtle Beach PX22 since they're around $70. They're very good in every aspect for sound in the game. I can hear all players, enemies, materials and chests from a good distance away. If you really don't want to go the route of TB, then I would recommend any Triton brand headset.

If you on Xbox one the stereo headsets good
