Beware Of Iron Banner Lv 30s
Be sure to check out the gear of the randoms added to your raid team. We have a lot of new 30's with IB gauntlets and Legs looking to do the Hard Raid Mode with Zero to NO HARD RAID EXPERIENCE.
I unfortunately had the opportunity to run not 1 but 2 endless raids with IB level 30s who just tried to run and gun Atheon. IB 30's who didn't know how to use the relic. They refused to listened to strategy.
CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE FINALLY ATTAINED LEVEL 30. (Now run the raid on normal endlessly until you know it like the back of your hand!!! And then attempt the raid on hard mode, so you're not wasting everyone's time)

This post isn't meant to discredit those who tolled hours on hours to reach level 30 with IB gear. I just want everyone to know that being 30 doesn't automatically make you good at raiding.
Edit:
Gear is not limited to just Legs, chest, arm &, helm. Gear also includes weapons and space ships. Other than raid armor these things can be used to gauge a players hard raid experience.
And for the all the players that have commented gear shouldn't matter it's all about skill. Skill only works when you have the experience to back it!

1 ReplyIf someone was able to reach rank 5 in IB but not finish a hard raid. They need to put down the sticks for awhile. The raid is PvE and very easy. 3 maned the easy 2 days ago. Not trying to argue the easy or hardness of the raid just still surprises me that even in a group of randoms that the basic of what to get done gets lost. Even holding the relic or hair ding an area I've never had has been fun.

My hunter is at 30 and has IB boots but has the other gear and my warlock has just gotten to level 20 before IB started last week and he's at 29 and 3/4 with IB boots and gauntlets that's just because its a fresh character to help do hard raids to get the other gear to be level 30. So i guess participating in a limited event with the partial level 30 gear just doesnt cut it huh? This discrimination is nonsense and people who disagree can kiss my ass. It doesn't matter though, I won't have to worry about discrimination amongst the " True level 30 " characters to do the raid because I have good friends to do the raids and weeklys every week. My point of this post is telling people that they need to be understanding of some peoples bad luck or that some people didn't get the game on day one. I don't mind running normal raids with those who haven't yet obtained raid gear.

I completely agree with this though I seriously am happy that others did finally reach 30. It is stupid that raid gear took me 11 times to get. I got 30 with raid gear but I thought it would never happen.

As a 29 I single handedly protected the left and middle confluxes when it was only half over. Judge a level 30s experience based on their performance as a 29 in the Hard Raid, not by the gear they have.

Agreed 100% Iron Banner 30s weren't chosen by RNGesus. They are synthetic facsimiles of the true god 30s. Still better than a 29 but not as noble as us true 30s

6 RepliesA level 30 Iron Banner player is more skilled overall than a level 30 PvE player. You can learn, outsmart, and trick an AI. You can't do any of that to real people because they are just as intelligent and unpredictable as you are. A level 30 through raid gear is pure luck. A level 30 through the Iron Banner is skill and dedication. (NOTE: There will be ones like you talked about who don't listen to reason but that is because of who they are and not their gear. They would be the same whether they earned it in the Iron Banner or through Normal raids. There are actually people being kicked just for having Iron Banner gear so don't go spreading around these messages because it just spreads the hate.)

7 RepliesI've completed 20 raids of which 5 were on hard. Never cheesed Atheon, because that bullcrap took way to much time trying by my teammates than actually beating him legit. Yesterday I've earned the Flawless Raider trophy. Oh and guess what, I'm level 30 because of IB gear. Never saw any gauntlets drop for my Titan and the majority of raids was done with him. I'm so sick and tired of people saying that IB 30's are "fake" or "don't deserve to be 30". Some get lucky with RNG and some don't, end of story.

4 RepliesMy friend did ONE NORMAL raid and got a full set of armor. He never did the raid again. He wants my crew to run him through the hard raid to get a Vex and we refuse. Iv done 10+ hard raids, 4 of which without dying!! Im a lvl 29!!! LEVEL DOESNT REFLECT SKILL, NO MATTER WHAT!!!

I play the raid all the time I just never got the boots so I got the IB ones

Also buddy, one problem with your argument. you say they have zero raid experience, but that's impossible, since Iron Banner only gives two level 30 items, so those people would have got their 3rd and even 4th pieces from the raid. Therefore they have raid experience. But anyway, having iron banner gear shouldn't make you different, even level 30's with full raid gear can still be crap. But yes, being level 30 means nothing.

Same goes to people that get 30 with raid gear. We carried a friend through, 27 and his first raid, and he got gauntlets, chest and boots. Mind you I've been grinding normal and hard for 5-6 weeks to get the gauntlets with no luck. Being 29 I've outplayed a lot of 30s so yeah.

I'm level 28 and only beat normal once. Gonna do it a few more times before I get into HM action.
