Be sure to check out the gear of the randoms added to your raid team. We have a lot of new 30's with IB gauntlets and Legs looking to do the Hard Raid Mode with Zero to NO HARD RAID EXPERIENCE.
I unfortunately had the opportunity to run not 1 but 2 endless raids with IB level 30s who just tried to run and gun Atheon. IB 30's who didn't know how to use the relic. They refused to listened to strategy.
CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE FINALLY ATTAINED LEVEL 30. (Now run the raid on normal endlessly until you know it like the back of your hand!!! And then attempt the raid on hard mode, so you're not wasting everyone's time)
Edit:
This post isn't meant to discredit those who tolled hours on hours to reach level 30 with IB gear. I just want everyone to know that being 30 doesn't automatically make you good at raiding.
Edit:
Gear is not limited to just Legs, chest, arm &, helm. Gear also includes weapons and space ships. Other than raid armor these things can be used to gauge a players hard raid experience.
And for the all the players that have commented gear shouldn't matter it's all about skill. Skill only works when you have the experience to back it!

With the BS RNG, I prefer my Iron Banner Gear over my Raid Gear because I now have stats I need not 100% STR. So in all fairness keep your Elitist BS to yourself. My Iron Banner Gear now means I can get my Super up quicker and Bubble when we need it. And this post is to completely discredit level 30's with Iron Banner Gear.

2 RepliesHey I know how to do the raid very well (love being relic holder) but I just haven't had the luck others have gotten, for example I ran the raid on hard and got 16 shards, 6 energies, found verdict...again, time breaker...again and chatter white for the millionth time. I had to grind out iron banner to get the gear I needed once done not gonna step foot in crucible till next iron banner or exotic bounty

1 ReplyI'm a level 30. Hit level 30 after I finally beat Atheon on hard, (post patch), got my helmet and maxed it the same night. Played it plenty of times and know what I'm doing. Pretty good I think. Full raid gear. But I prefer my IB gauntlets. Prettier with million million and Alpha Lupi. ^ I must suck at the raid. Darn. XD
-
7 RepliesLol all these cod fanboys acting like destinys raids have mmo mechanics xD Play final fantasy 14 scrubs then come talk about difficulty.
-
3 RepliesWait, so how can you not have done hard raid and get to lvl 30 when the only way to get the helms are on hard raid?
-
I'd rather have the IB gear than my raid gear. Looks so much better. But as someone said. Equip your mythoclast/aspect of glass/sparrow and there's your proof of cheesing the last boss pre patch :p
-
2 RepliesYour post is boring and pointless... My hunter wears IB gear because I like the way it looks pretty sure I've run more raids than you but hey I wear IB gear so I must be bad... Idiot.
-
Edited by Eshé: 11/28/2014 2:38:01 AMMy hunter was the last of three to reach level 30, with the help of Iron Banner, the process was accelerated but he made it. Needless to say over the period of time it took to bring my Warlock and Titan to level 30 I've brought myself to know each role of each encounter in the Raid. I assure you I'm no "fake" 30.
-
To be honest, I've never had a problem like that. Just tell them they can try to find a workable strategy for the next hour or they can listen to the guy who has done the raid and knows a strategy which worked previously.
-
Edited by Raider TCK: 11/28/2014 2:21:35 AMYou should probably change the thread name to inexperienced 30s. I have done multiple raids with highly experienced raiders who horrible luck so little raid gear. Doing the raid with inexperienced raiders sucks. I saw someone try and shotgun slide a gorgon.
-
3 RepliesThe first people to run and complete the hard mode raid didn't run the normal mode raid "endlessly" beforehand, so why should IB 30s have to do it? The hard mode raid is just a harder version of the normal mode raid. You don't need to practice in order to do it, just like you don't need to practice all the normal strikes before running Tiger Strikes.
-
You know that gear is gear.., the more thirtys there are available the easier it is to complete the hard raid even without any hard experience
-
2 RepliesAm I the only one who ignored Iron Banner and just kept looking for normal raid gear? I did so and I am proud to say that I am a level 30 now
-
Eh, the IB boots / gauntlets look better imo. On a warlock atleast. Specially with praxic fire on. What they are wearing doesnt matter really, aslong as they are 29-30. Just go to their completions check it.. If they dont cut just boot them. Or just dont play with randoms.. I dont and it works out great.
-
the raid officially doesn't matter anymore get off your high horse. and in 2 weeks your gear lvl will be obtained by everyone in 3 days...
-
-edit-F××k you hatten. Crucible legend strikes again
-
1 ReplyMeh if you got to lvl 30 ages ago then you basically have been playing on easy mode for ages. Ill take a veteran 29 over a 30 any day as it requires morw skill.
-
1 Reply-blam!- you hatten. From "The Crucible Legend"
-
1 ReplyYou can gauge a player's hard raid experience by their jump ship? Hmmm.....
-
I have used the Iron Banner armor to get to level 30 and have a full set of Iron Banner weapons. I have done the raid on hard several times, so I don't think this really has ANYTHING to do inexperience.
-
2 RepliesI had no luck to get my first warlock to 30 for the longest time then I made a titan and had better luck in the raid got all four pieces in 3 runs so I thought when iron banner come out I'll grab the boots so then I'm 30 with my warlock so I can run it easier and grab relic if needed, first hard raid I did it gave me the boots straight up just A bit of rng for you.
-
2 RepliesFunny enough, I achieved level 30 from both the IB and the raid on the same day. I got both the raid boots and the IB boots within a couple hours of each other, and now have both IB pieces and a full set of raid gear, with 5 different fully upgraded exotics, and the 6th being worked on.
-
1 ReplyHa ha should anyone see my character, in my defence my boots (as soon as they are upgraded) have better stats than my raid boots but yeah I have done parts of the hard raid at least three times, I haven't beaten it yet since most of my team finishes it off when I am working but I see where you are coming from, you can't run and gun atheon. That's just stupid!
-
5 RepliesBut its the best looking armour out there and raid gesr armour perks suck except the helmet that gives crazy super gains
-
S/O to my legit 30s. The ones that have done countless of raids to get their equipment. The relentless guardians who kept going at Atheon with no mercy. My fellow brethren, I salute thee.
-
17 RepliesOmg stfu I've played with raid geared lvl 30s that don't know shit
