Bungie gives us voice chat : No one uses it
Like really? There were so many complaints about it not being implemented in the game. Bungie listens and gives it to us, and no one uses it. There was only one guy I've seen with a mic so far, and he didn't even talk lol.. This community man...
Edit: Whoa, I didn't expect this post to blow up with comments. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!
Edit 2: I would like to point out that Control is my favorite game type. So if I'm playing alone, the voice chat would really come in handy if people actually used their mics.
Edit 3: Thanks for all your input guys. This post got HUGE on the forums. hope to see some of you in Crucible/Iron Banner. (I'm on PS3)

1 ReplyI'm not really sure what changed, aside from PvP voice chat. Before they implemented the voice chat you could voice chat in game with your fireteam on strikes and raids. Personally I don't use voice chat in PvP (ib, I'm a pve player usually) because I don't really see anything to communicate about. I play the objective, and honestly if people actually had something they needed to communicate throughout the match I'd turn it on, but its usually just random talking, or a kid giving you a play by play on his deaths.

I just use party chat with my fireteam members instead lol. I don't really play this game alone or with ransoms because it's no fun if you aren't playing with friends. Also I would have [u]MUCH[/u] ratcheted them fix all the damn bugs and game breaking Glitches in the vault of glass instead of giving us voice chat.

13 RepliesI was a little apprehensive about voice chat in the Crucible but a friend and I switched over on Monday evening to try it out. Apprehensions justified. First of all, the only guy in there besides us was someone that I imagined must be pretty creepy in person. I remember some low toned mumbling about "Show me dem biscuits, baby. You better show me dem biscuits." and nervous laughter from my friend and me. I'm not making this up. Then, my friend decides to answer his phone and talk to his fiance with his mic live. Now, this being a friend, I took no issue with it but I couldn't help thinking that this is the kind of stuff I'll likely experience in the chat - friends or not friends. Of course, when he returned from his lengthy phone call the older guy in the team chat with us responded to his "Ok, I'm back" with another deep voiced "I love you too, baby. Now show me dem biscuits."

This is why I laughed at the idea and didn't want Bungie to waste time on implementing it. Been out 3 days, and have yet to hear a single soul

I like using voice chat to talk to all the teammates I get matched with who don't use it. When they're about to get slaughtered from behind I tell them (but since they can't hear me they don't react) I just watch as they die, clean up the scraps and have myself a laugh.

Voice in Strikes isn't needed at all. In PvP, all you can hear are people yellow my at each other, noob this gtfu that. It would be nice in a weekly/nightfall but then we need matchmaking first

Bungie is very good at solving non existent problems. First, people have been asking for proximity chat since the game was released (should be in the game on the release day). Second, they are asking for proximity chat in the tower and when running around on the planets. But hell yeah, Bungie fixed our material icons you can't imagine how many players had problems with those. Constantly using the wrong materials to upgrade gear and guns. I'm so happy they found some spare time to colour in new icons for us. THANKS BUNGIE!

Well there is only a small fraction of Destiny players that are on this forum and not everyone on the forum wanted the game chat so it makes sense that no one uses it. It's just like any other multiplayer game.

1 ReplyWe are far too used to not having it already. Most people just invite through PSN chat parties anyway. It came too late it seems. Very noble they did it but it's ridiculous it was taken out so long to the point we have found other means.

Maybe my perception is off, but I assume it's filled with whiny manchildren. So I avoid using the chat unless I'm raiding or with RL friends.

naw bungie gave xbox one insane instant lag option .... I only hope the issue is caused by bungie using a angry bitter intern to write the code....

1 ReplyMe and the guys I play with use it. Have not heard a single other person speak using the channel though. Literally not one. It will happen eventually. More people would talk if you didn't have to change channel.

4 RepliesI was a bit hesitant to use voice chat, but i was in a crucible match 2 nights ago and noticed a couple of people joining it and i thought "you know what? these people might have some directional insight into a successful match". So i joined... ...i was greeted with the shrill sound of an argument between 2 of my teammates, its burned into my brain and still resonating: Kid: "*screams dying down with a sobbing cry* You f****t!!! you're doing it on purpose!!!" other guy: "Who?" Kid: "You!" other guy: "Me? what?" Kid: "STOP IT!!! followed by *Earbursting scream* (2 other guys in channel start laughing) Kid: (sobbing) you keep blocking my sniping on B (i think he's refering to camping near C, lining up shots on B on the Venus map) Other guy: (still laughing) we're not doing anything! calm down! Kid: (louder than Ever) STOP LYING!!!! STOP IT!!! AAAAHHHHHHHGHGHGH.....*cries then sniffles* Other guy #2: Dude, just f*** off! Kid: Yeah f*** off! Other guy #2: No you, stop crying, you need to chill! As funny as it was, i just left teamchat then....could not deal.

1 ReplyHere's my thing: I have a tight nit group that I play with. While it's usually the 3 of us we use party chat for two reasons. The first is that we stream so having only the 3 of us makes it easier and you don't hear complaining or useless chatter. The second is the party chat settings allows for better voice quality and settings for our headsets. We are not totally against team chat, just prefer the party system.

I joined group (not fireteam) chat the other day in a couple of raids but noone spoke even when we were all in there. Probably because I was unable to unmute them so it didn't work. Maybe we need to look to make sure the others aren't mjted?

Would be nice if xbox one kinect worked with it. I would use my corsair H wireless but hey, if it's not made by Microsoft it won't be fully supported on the system.

I do not use it since IB is control and it has a simple objective. To add to this, it would be a distraction for me so I opt out on using this feature with strangers. (Use it with friends in IB) On the other hand, I use the mic in VoG because it's vital.

The tower maybe, but not implemented here. For PVP I understand, but I cant for social reasons (people actually in the room with me)
