Like really? There were so many complaints about it not being implemented in the game. Bungie listens and gives it to us, and no one uses it. There was only one guy I've seen with a mic so far, and he didn't even talk lol.. This community man...
Edit: Whoa, I didn't expect this post to blow up with comments. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!
Edit 2: I would like to point out that Control is my favorite game type. So if I'm playing alone, the voice chat would really come in handy if people actually used their mics.
Edit 3: Thanks for all your input guys. This post got HUGE on the forums. hope to see some of you in Crucible/Iron Banner. (I'm on PS3)

I always talk on my mic, people respond with emotes but every once in a blue moon I get someone who talks back, I play on Xbox my user is @kryxeon if you guys wanna add me
-
3 RepliesHonestly I would guess that having to toggle it on manually each and every single game turns off a lot of people. Plus I'd bet a lot of people don't even know how to do it.
-
They should force chat unless you mute somebody. The fact that by default it's off means it stays off.

-
If only some people knew how to set up their router properly, I find this to be a problem more often than anything else.
-
1 ReplyI only care to hear my teammates in raids and sometimes nightfall. Everything else in the game doesn't require communication lol
-
3 RepliesThe problem is I don't think most people realize to go to settings and make team voice chat automatic. EVERY single time I join a crucible or strike match I am the only one that pops up entering the team voice chat channel.
-
Ya is retarded
-
I use the PS4 party chat to chat with friends. It's better quality than the in-game voice chat.
-
I think most of the people screaming for voice chat already left.
-
If it isn't someone without a mic then it's a nat block and crap won't work.
-
I have a mic and doesn't work. Anyone having this issue?
-
I use it often. But remember, a small portion of Destiny players are actually on the forums. Most people I know never use a headset. I'm sure the same is true for a good majority of Destiny players. I've had one random person actually chat with me during a strike. The rest probably just don't use headsets.

3 RepliesI never asked for it, i never wanted it & couldnt care less about it. lol
-
One guy used it and he wasn't bad. He'd call out what he was doing and when he needed support or that he was waiting for us to get I the heavy ammo
-
I literally had one random use voice chat during Iron Banner. I'll just start camping and tea bagging until someone dents me a hate mail, otherwise I'm convinced I'm just playing with bots.
-
I never had any desire for voice chat outside of friends. I wish Bungie hadn't wasted time and resources making it work when they could've spent them on content or fixes. Sadly, this is what typically happens in MMOs. People beg for content that they never use or only use for a short time after it releases. Next thing you know we'll have customizable ships that no one will bother with a month later.
-
I gave up trying to use it because no one else does.
-
I notice the same thing. First time I get a voice back and it is someone letting his very young, maybe 6 yr old play and was talking to him.lol.
-
Never asked for it. I know some people did but I've seen Bungie ignore requests for other things that have been asked for more.
-
One reason for me not using the ingame chat is because you can't change the volume of the game and it often is too loud to hear people talking.
-
I never wanted it, to many games in the past just had to deal with trolls and it got annoying. I'm glad Bungie gives you the choice though. Crucible I could see voice chat being extremely helpful, but PvE it's not really useful unless you're doing a raid.
-
I recon it's the fact that people are waiting for someone else to jump at it first. I know for one I'm not too keen to join the chat if no1 else is going to follow me. It really should have been automatic and able to be canceled in the settings if you didn't want it. This way everyone would HAVE to use it unless they changed it themselves.

11 RepliesIf this forum is any indication of how Destiny players act, then I have zero desire to listen to them over my mic.
-
Yeah i agree with you. This is why we don't get nice things... because we don't appreciate and/or use the nice things we already have.
-
Yep, instead of diverting resources to the weapon buffs, VoG fixes, interesting content, working on Queens Wrath, Testing new features, literally anything else, they had to work on a stupid VC system that no one uses, even though everyone bitched about wanting it
