So I recently decided to see if bungie was telling the truth about this new iron banner.
I had a SUROS leveled up to 267 attack. It was hitting head shots for 37 damage at most ranges. I then got the spirit bloom necessary to upgrade it to around 285 attack. Went back to the IB and what do you know hitting head shots for 37 damage.
Am I misunderstanding or did they lie.
If you happen to know what a fully maxed out 300 suros hits for let me know.

7 RepliesPeople's defense matters. You hitting the same level when you test? I've hit people for 42 on my suros
-
1 ReplyI killed a level 20 and 24. - the level 20 had no effect on me and I tore through him like butter. - the level 24? OHK with my throwing knife.
-
Don't forget that your opponents level and defense rate matter too.
-
It depends on the level of the people you are shooting, test while shooting at a lvl 30 guy

See your weapons attack rating? Drop the last digit and that's what level your weapons are effective against. Any higher and you will see a decrease in damage based on level. The other difference is defence rating, higher defense will effect your damage as well. In iron banner (reforged) they make a world of difference. I noticed right away. Higher lvls take more to kill. At 28 the only ones that are really tough are lvl 30s. The reduced damage from melle is especially noticeable.

Edited by slopat: 11/19/2014 12:18:05 AMYou are misunderstanding Damage. It affects only enemies that are higher level than you. It diminishes you nerf in their case. Equal or lower are not affected. You are getting 100% impact there anyhow, except in the new IB, where you are supposed to get more against lower levels.

3 RepliesI feel your pain bro and I am getting to witts end here with all the damn lies from this company. They had tweeted since after this new update some how, only god knows but this is what happen, since the update some Exotics got Nerf. Do some more research and you can find out more info.

I'm trying to form an Xbox 360 fire team for Iron Banner because let me be honest I've been paired up with a bunch of scrubs the last few games and I'm trying to rank up as fast as possible. Looking for some skilled Crucible players. Please message Xyphyros for an invite thank you 💪💥

Yeah, weapon upgrades dont matter, only level. I pointlessly maxed my shadow price and found verdict, i would have save my shards for TLW if i knew that. Still cool that level matters though

1 ReplyEdited by Homeless Taniks: 11/18/2014 11:40:16 PMI think there's still a 3 level modifier so if that person was within 3 levels it's the same. Maybe I'm wrong. I've noticed that as a 30 I can stand in the fire.

I have a maxed out strangers rifle and managed to get 25 kills with it.

1 ReplyYou didn't mention what level you are?
-
1 ReplyThe only thing that matters is that low level 4's can't join the match to kill you thus creating the illusion of power mattering. ~Bungie

2 RepliesI noticed a difference in weapons. A guy with an upgraded LW hit me like 6 times and I still killed him with my vanquisher8. I was using my 30 and this guy was lvl26.

The max damage a Suros can do is 37 with a headshot. Depending on what level you are you just take more or less health away from your enemy seeing as if they're a lower level than you, they have less health and your weapons take more health away than if you were the same level. And the attack matters the same as in PvE, if your attack is 267 you'll do full damage to level 26's but not quite full damage to 27's.

My light beware does less damage in IB
-
1 ReplyI have a full maxed suros too. Gonna try this out tonight.

Going in with a Lvl 28 lock and a non maxed shadow price I noticed a difference. It is much more challenging than normal crucible. Had to pull out the maxed found verdict if I wanted to kill a Lvl 30.

Good news... no need to waste time grinding mats

We'll both attack and armor rating matter.. So it's possible that the folks you were hitting the second time had higher armor rating so it balanced out
-
My Grim Citizen does 27 max damage in crucible. I seen it do 28 damage at one point in the Iron Banner.
-
Attack doesnt matter only level does, barely. Once again another bungie lie
-
1 ReplyBump. Can anyone else chime in if Fully upgrading a weapon doesn't matter ?
-
3 RepliesI'm hoping that the damage being shown applies differently to opponents of different levels with different defense ratings.
-
11 RepliesHonestly don't worry about where it says damage, it's the impact that actually does damage. Without increasing the impact the damage will be the same.
