EDIT 2: Thanks for the responses. The point I was trying to make was bigger than this specific fix. I see there is a work around, but the point was that even in a multiplayer game, there are people like me who prefer to play solo and you cannot change this. I will play as part of a team only when I feel like it. You need to accommodate players like me no matter what kind of game you create. For example in GTA Online I always play invite only and don't invite anyone and only play multiplayer for racing. That is how I like to play. There are just too many people who can quickly get on your nerves for me to always be playing with others.
EDIT: I can adapt, that is easy enough, but not all classes can do this solo. My warlock can just hang back more and fireborn when I inevitably get killed, but my other 2 characters won't be able to try this. I suspect that if I was level 30 on all characters, that this would be a moot point since it gets lots easier then.
The main issue is the fix: Winter's Run: Fixed an exploit zone in the Aksor boss encounter
That was something which made it possible for me to finally get through Nightfall solo with my Hunter. My Warlock always finishes nightfall. My titan still can't do it.
Are you trying to push me out of the game with restrictive content? It is bad enough I can't play the raid or future raids, so I don't need to buy the DLC. This incessant need for game companies to make everything multiplayer is wearing thin on me.
I will try out Iron Banner, but if I keep getting these solo play nerfs I may just play another game.

To be honest I can solo any nightfall/ heroic strike, pretty much anything except Vog. Being a solo player isn't snare to be easy, but for the skillful gamers. With that, try playing any other mmo or rpg solo, there's inevitably walls that can't be climbed solo.

6 RepliesYou can still get under platform. Somebody posted a video on forums showing how.
-
8 RepliesThere is far better spots to fight him. And nightfall is always cake walk alone with the right weapons.
-
9 RepliesJust hang back near the entrance instead of hiding underneath the platform. Solved! Or find people to run nightfall with here on the forums our at lfg.
-
Maybe you should get good at the game before relying on safe spots or revive, tool.

2 RepliesEdited by nicky041192: 11/17/2014 9:13:06 PMNot all classes can solo? I have one of each class and solod them all fine. Tip: Don't go under the platform. Simples. Forgot to say: git gud scrub.

1 ReplyCan you still shoot Phogoth through a tiny space between two doors while he just stands there in your line of fire and refuses to move and no enemies attack you? Because that seems like 1000x the cheese of getting under the platform for the Aksor fight. At least you can still take some damage when you are down there.
-
1 ReplyGet better at fps fast action games. I've soloed it w all 3 characters. Only my Titan is a 30. And I used void walker on my warlock. So what now???
-
Quit whining. I only play solo & i dont have a problem with anything i attempt. If something is too hard then get a fireteam together, its meant to be a challenge. Tbh if u need to hide underneath the platform then you arent very good anyway. Ive completed every strike solo staying within the confines of the battlefield. Thats where the challenge is, just quit if its too hard. I love this update & as a solo gamer it doesnt hinder me at all.

2 RepliesThis just in: Using tactics and cover make you a bad player. Thank you for clearing that up, The Elite of Destiny!
I'm sorry if I want to make the strike I've done countless times before easier. I'm looking for loot, not the challenge. If I want the challenge I'll do the vault.
2 RepliesEventually they will consider everything a cheese spot. So what will end up happening is: ° You'll be confined to a single spot directly in front of the enemy with no means of cover. °Any attempt to leave said spot will trigger a kill volume. °All weapons will end up being nerfed due to OP Good luck gentlemen. Apparently Chuck Norris said Destiny was too easy. So clearly the devs are listening to him.

5 RepliesYour not allowed to play how YOU want. You can only play how THEY want you to play. Sucks big time.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Twohothardware: 11/18/2014 2:38:05 AMYou don't need to try and get through anything solo. There is countless other Destiny players at any time of the day trying to complete the same content and a lot of them list it on Destinylfg.net and Destinylfg.com. Go there, search for what your wanting to do, send a couple invites, or put up your own listing looking to join and within a few minutes you'll be grouped up. It's not hard. At all. Which is why there's no reason why you should have any way of easily solo'ing the Nightfall or Weekly Strike.

12 RepliesI love the complaints on removing exploits/glitches. #moderngamer #itstoohard
-
2 Repliesplenty hiding spots in askors fight tyvm.... they fixed a cheap exploit... it can still very much be solowed if your patient. thought not easy as its ever meant to be. as for your rying about the game not catering to solo players... its an online MMO style game.. DESIGNED around fireteams... it was touting that BEFORE its release.. .and your crying that you bought it for the solo play. sounds like the failure was your stupidity buying a multiplayer game for the single player value. your failure.. not bungies.
-
Wait. Fixing an obvious exploit is "making it harder on solo players"? Lol! GTFO
-
Because it was fun and "wasn't how Bungie envisioned encounters."
-
I don't understand how you can't solo with a titan. That shield has saved me countless times. I can't solo with the Hunter cause they just die way too easy
-
2 RepliesBut destiny was sold as a coop experience, not a solo one. Just sayin
-
1 ReplyLast two months in a nutshell lol.
-
I'll give it a shot, once. Just more time for me to be doing something else. I'm not wasting time soloing that strike when death means orbit. The rewards are by far outweighed by the possible time expense.
-
Lol I'll just have someone sit on the cliff before you go to the boss area while I self revive glitch that bastard to oblivion. Done deal.

1 ReplyYour welcome http://youtu.be/uJCM1dLaisI

Not being able to hide under the deck is not a big deal. Me and other friends have beaten him without it before we knew about it. Was it as easy as taking a nap under the floor, no. But as doable as anything else in the game.
-
You might want to go back to an old system... The gaming industry is becoming increasingly social. Developers are focussing largely on creating games that force people to play together..
-
If u jump up on the cliff to the left of the dropdown to priest area you can snipe almost everything and crouch if u somehow get hit
