Now let me get the last word in on this topic and put it to rest. You see everyone earned their exotics. The only difference is to what extent. Now hear me out and I will explain. There are three tiers of earning and I will list them below.
The top tier of the "earned" list are those who did exotic bounties for their exotics.
The second tier is a tie. Those who worked for strange coins and those who got blessed with RNG grinding on weekly/nightfall/tiger strikes, etc. (As far as grinding goes it does not matter if they were going out of their way to get the drop or if it just happened. They still went through the same type of things to get it.)
The Third and last tier is crucible. Now this only counts for people who are horrible and got exotics. Anyone who did well and got a exotic are in the second tier under grinding.
Regardless of the tier level everyone earned their gear. It does not mater if you "earned" it a little more than anyone else. Earned is still earned, get over it.
There is ONLY one exception to this rule. That would be the people who intentionally went afk/afc in crucible and got exotics. Those people got their gear the dirty way.
TL/DR Get over yourselves, everyone earned their gear. (Unless they intentionally went afk/afc in crucible to get exotics.)
Edit: Ok some people are confused about the tier system I used. I personally don't care how people got their gear. There are always the "But my way of earning is better" people. They would have made that point if I had not gotten it out of the way first.

Truth right here.

Bump, agreed, whining about xur just reveals one's own lack of simple reasoning ability.
-
Anyone who complains about no longer being a snowflake needs to realize that at 30 everyone looks the same. Also Xûr selling weapons strengthens overall fireteams.
-
3 RepliesI actually get a little upset when the bottom of the bottom guy in crucible gets an exotic and the top performer has a dismantable item.
-
I agree with this post. I'm tired of people complaining that they earned their last words from hours of tiger strikes n such. Heroic is challenging, for the most part if you're not cheesing. Or if you don't have a squad to watch your back.

Bump 10/10

3 Replieshttp://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/78634062/0/0 I think you'll agree with me here for the most part

1 ReplyTiers? I think someone else also needs to over themselves. You earn your gear by simply investing time into playing the game. They are practically rewards for simply participating. I don't see how there can be tiers for participation rewards.

Edited by JetSetRadio: 11/14/2014 5:04:28 PMOr a better solution. Drop the topic altogether. Quit being entitled and enjoy the video game.

By definition of "earning": (of a person) obtain (usually money) in return for labor or services. Doing a strike and getting a 9 coin reward is the very definition of "earning". In fact, doing X and getting Y as a reward makes anything earned.

10 RepliesI grew up and sold this piece of shit game and bought shadow o mordor, AC unity and AW all of them 10 times better then destiny

I think we all earned our gear no matter how we got it period. We all put money down to buy the game, or put effort in to steal it lol. Congratulation for earning it. Now go shoot something and stop bickering on who earned it more.
-
Who want to waste time earning anyways, I favour luck over popping brain cells mindlessly staring at my screen forcing myself to do the same garbage over and over again. I play while it's fun, when it feels like earning, i move on, you should too kids. There is life beyond the last word.
-
The only "cost" for this game is time. End of story.

Edited by God of Donuts: 11/14/2014 5:08:18 PMAll my Exotics are from Xur and Bounties. I still feel like I earned them. Because those strange coins are hard to come by. You don't just complete one game of strike or crucible to get an exotic gear. Smh @ some people..

1 ReplyBut the afk earning kind of contradicts everything you stated.
-
I agree that everyone has earned their gear. But we are no longer beating a dead horse. We are beating the bare ground where the dead horse once was.
-
I thought this horse was beat to a pulpy mess by now....
