To: Pre-Xur The Last Word Owners
So Xur is selling the Last Word. What of it? Personally, I've owned and loved TLW since week 3/4 of the game and I'm not even displeased in the slightest that I'm no longer a unique snowflake.
If you ever bought something from Xur, you've lost any right to complain. I'm sure you enjoy your Suros/Gjallahorn/Ice Breaker, right? Remember the people complaining about them?
If you're good at using TLW, why should you protest against others buying it? Now PvP will be more challenging... unless you admit you like having an unfair advantage, that is.
Stop complaining , it just shows how much of a hypocrite you are.

In the hand full of PVP games I ran last night, I encountered TLW once. Given the outcry here I figured PVP would be full of them. Nope. Shotguns still the preferred weapon of choice for many. I'd be happy to see them go. I'd like to see the Gjallarhorn go on sale. Would shave a bit of time off Raid completions. Only 3 of our 6 regulars are running it at the moment.

I own the last word and the suros both pre-xur but hate using both of them because killing someone in 2-3 shots with a primary and stupid range takes all the -blam!-ing fun out of a game.

32 RepliesLol bungie really -blam!-ed up with XUR This is what the problem is. Rpg's mainly revolve around people distinguishing themselves from others. It's a power struggle and a dick contest. People who get rewarded with a rare drop, ie - Last Word, feel incredibly rewarded and happy that they have something that distinguishes themselves from the crowd. Something to brag about, something to be recognised for Nek minut.. everyone's bought one for a lousy amount of easily obtainable strange coins and suddenly you're back on the same level as every other pleb out there It undermines the fundamental motivation to progress in RPG's - The desire to be better than your fellow man

I see no difference between getting one in a drop or buying from xur. Both take time, effort, and patience.

People usin TLW in crucible are dwindling down again. It seems not alot of people like it whether it be pvp or pve. If not for hawkmoon it be my main though.

4 RepliesI've had my Last Word for well over a month and I'm not unhappy about it. It's a fun gun to use and I bet a lot of people are pretty happy they can finally use it. It has its limits too which is why I'm not like OMGWTFGTFO. Now I have Hawkmoon though and that is one that xur will never sell anytime soon so I'm still a special snowflake. ^.^

That's is the way I felt when Xur sold the patiens and time , I got mine on the raid the 3rd week the game came out, now it's in the vault waiting to get destroy

Either way though, I'm just saving my coins for the next exotics from the Dark Below expansion since I unfortunately have the season pass back when I thought Destiny was going to be Destiny. Xur could also do with not selling the same 3 chest pieces 4 weeks in a row.

Something someone said awhile back - "think things like xur are going to crush this game. He is the best example of how nothing is exotic or legendary in this game. And no you didn't earn anything you buy from xur. Doing weekly herioic missions for coins is not hard when a player can solo them. There's no way a person can solo raid legit. Soon we will all look the same. Have same lvl and have same weapons. We will be the perfect lil digital socialist collective"

I got it from either a Tiger strike, or a Legendary Engram post patch. I got Last Word and Plan C within a short time of each other and I forget which was which. Either way, I'm glad Xur sold it this week. Now all the players that have wanted to try it, can. Good for them! I recently got 'Devil You Know' and I already like it better first time using it than my fully upgraded Last Word. I don't PVP though.
