I know it could be a hassle and time consuming, but reading the grimoire cards literally opened my eyes to the story. Yeah the in game story isn't explained well, but I think the cards are worth it to better understand something that should've been apparent in the first place.

I've read some of the grimoire, but and a lot of it is interesting. But after a while I got angry that I had to make an account on Bungie just to access the story to game I already paid $60 for. I mean imagine how much more awesome this game would be if each significant grimoire card was a cut scenes? They could still have grimoire for "extra" lore. In fact this is how most games operate: place main chunk of lore within game to build a foundation of deep interest within the game, and then supplement this with additional/optional lore through other content. By relying on the grimoire cards so heavily it has really taken a blow on the story all together imo.

I absolutely agree especially about the cards being cutscenes and you're right making an account to further your knowledge on the story does make you feel like "meh" towards it. I just hope that they also improve your characters development. Like ok I was brought back to life after being dead for a while and am immediately thrown into a fight between human and aliens. Where's the background. How did you die. Why were you chosen. Why aren't there animals!!!?? Lol. But we'll see in due time...hopefully.

Well said and I agree completely. There are animals though, all sorts of them. Problem is all they do is boot you to the title screen :P. I think it would've been awesome to include cut scenes for the exotic weapons that were once held by guardians of legend. Imagine watching the guy who made SGA or who wielded TLW. That kind of stuff would've made this game epic and actually would've put a true story behind your gun as opposed to some digital trading card.
