I have both of my characters with Atheon Check Points for days now and every time I look for a group with a couple 30s I never get invites!! I ONLY ever get invites from groups of 29s, what gives? I mean I know 29s are a little bit of a liability, but damn man I need a Helmet and I'm a 30 instantly and no groups with 30s will invite me. I know I'm not the only one either cuz every group of 29s I'm with all say the same thing.

It's a conspiracy. [evil face] hua hua hua. Jk. Cz those people are jerks man. Psn guascon25 I wanna raid on hard too. Lvl 30 hunter. Ps you could also get an exotic helmet. That would take you there as well.
-
U should get in a clan.
-
One question... if you have the checkpoint, why are you waiting for an invite. Make a post yourself and start a group.
-
18 RepliesSome people are just a bunch of cox suckers.. My brother did the raid on hard with lvls 28s and 29s not one 30.. I can't ever get enough SMART people to do the raid on hard. Still looking for that group that is doing the raid on hard every week that needs 1 or 2 people to help. And I have MANY weapons maxed out
-
People are more hesitant when it comes to inviting randoms due to the lack of knowledge of the players capacity and especially personality.

4 Replies-25% damage dealt and +25% more damage taken....

1 ReplyEdited by Quietdrive55: 11/12/2014 10:14:09 PMI did the raid the other night with 1 lvl 30 and 5 lvl 29's. We beat it in two/three hours. I did the raid again that week with 1 lvl 29 and 5 lvl 30's. We couldn't get past the oracle checkpoint. The difference was that the lvl 29's communicated well (called out oracles, praetorians, when they needed help, when they went out of the portals when the legions spawned, etc.). The 30's didn't say anything but "shit i died". Long story short, level means nothing if you have no strategy, communication, and skill to back it up.

Edited by Dyalar: 11/12/2014 10:54:08 PM
I mean I know 29s are a little bit of a liability
You answered your own question. I've played with some good 29's. I've played with some bad 30's. If I was forming a group of random players to tackle VoG hard, and I had to pick between a 29 and a 30, in going with the 30. The 30 may be the worse player. But taking players of equal skill (which I have to assume, because I don't know you or how good you are), the 30 has more margin for error.

No we inv 29s me personally if I'm pressed for time I like to run with 30s just cause it makes it easier and u can do the whole thing in like 30-40 mins
-
Same reason people in WoW generally don't want to do dungeons until they are around 4 levels above the dungeon's target levels. People want easy mode and having all 30s in the raid is about as easy as they can make it.
-
We're a clique.
-
Most 30's have been through the 29 struggle. They don't want to go though the hardships again.
-
dude 29s arent even a real liability, i've beaten hard mode with a full group of lvl29s, people just say they are one but if you know your shit you'll be just fine, many people at 30 can't seem to accept, not all of course but many
-
just did the raid on norm for my hunter killed atheon 2 ports and did hard on it to gatekeeper was only tryin to get boots then did hard all the way to gatekeeper on warlock and titan... now i have 3 lvl 29 3/4s
-
5 RepliesThats weird. If you need help I have a group with majority 30's that still needs to steamroll atheon.
-
If all you need is a helmet for 30, why didn't you grab an exotic from Xur to use until you get a raid one?
-
Lvl 29 w gatekeeper checkpoint. Looking for team. Msg baybe jesus
-
I noticed this too. It's annoying people won't even give 29s a chance.
-
1 Replyif you have a gallajahorn you can be 28 i mean its really about weapons you use and your overall knowledge about the situation you are in
-
Just bad luck i guess, I've never had a problem being lvl 29 finding a hard raid with other 29 ' s and 30's, as long as you have the right weapons I wouldn't care, unless you continually die lol then I'll kick you

6 RepliesEdited by Draconus2006: 11/12/2014 1:51:19 PMa player needs to be quite bad at 30 for them to be worse than the average level 29. Especially with randoms - you roll the dice each time. Personally when building groups, I will only take a 29 if they bring a 30 friend with them. 3 30s, 3 29s - not awful. 2 30s 4 29s, you are likely going to be stuck a while. 0 or 1 30....have fun. most wont get it. While at 30 class doesn't matter as much, at 29....they need to be a warlock given their likelihood of dieing is a lot higher. PS - if you are a group of all 30s - it is quite easy to get 30s to join you. When gambling with randoms, why take someone with skill unknown who will do 25% less damage and die far easier?
-
You knew this was coming when they put random pulls at the boss. I personally don't give a -blam!- who we play with Aslong as you don't touch the relic if you're a 29. 30 can survive a hit from minitar while 29 cannot. Idc if you're a lvl 28 Aslong as you have all your guns maxed out and know Wtf Venus and mars means you can raid with me
-
30 RepliesYou gotta be 30. Bottom line if you are 29 you are being carried.
