Thorn Bounty is a load of shit. How can you do it as a Hunter?
Before reading, please note that there will be fowl language. You've been warned.
Ok, so I recently got the Thorn Bounty on my Hunter class... We can all see where this is going. The Crucible section of this bounty is the biggest pile of shit if you don't have a void sub-class or any good void weapons. I've got a Void Sniper and a Void Assault Rifle. Seeing as Assault rifles have recently been nerfed, the thing's pretty much useless because of it's already low damage rate (considering I'm shooting the head not the body). The sniper is also difficult to use because there are no good spots on any map to really shoot from. And I haven't got any heavy void weapons. I'd be completely fine with this bounty if it weren't for the 2 point penalty upon dying. For some, that's probably fine, but I generally have a k/d ratio of around 0.47 so essentially, I take 1 step forward 2 steps back. This bounty is just plain unfair for those who aren't any good at Crucible or don't have good Void weapons. It's just plain stupid. I've read all different strategies and tried a bunch of them, but I keep getting thrown in games with spastic shotgunners, supreme snipers, maniac machine-gunners, assault-rifle wielding psychopaths and pyromaniacs with rocket launchers who just beat me to a bloody pulp. Seriously Bungie, how the -blam!- do I do this? I know I'm having a rant, but this part of the game's made me rage harder than playing Ninja Gaiden, and that was a bitch to beat.

I beat this part in under two hours using warlock void class and only a void sniper (MLG) it wasn't that hard but I guess that's because I'm actually decent at the PvP crap they call crucible on a totally unrelated note anyone realize u empty a full clip into someone and only get the kill 5 seconds after they kill u?

What level are you? Hit Crota for the Word or Swordbreaker. I bet you could get it dome with the Epilogue. I agree it would be frustrating without a good void weapon. It's also a shame that you can't see the steps when selecting the bounty without going to the internet.

To all who say Thorn bounty is is very hard or impossible, quit the game take out the CD and throw it away( throw the console if you have digital), sheesh... these type of players not to be having the gun.what you think i did? i also used my hunter to finish thorn bounty, i only used Vog raid sniper rifle thats all, it took me just 3 days to complete(I DO HAVE A LIFE). you can actually farm some points in crucible now instead of bragging how tough your Destiny life is zzzz

I did it with only a void fusion take your time with it any kill is better then a death so if you can't get the void kill switch your weapon to survive till you can

Fool, use a rare fusion or shotgun. You don't need legendary weapons in crucible

I literally found a green void fusion rifle and did it in like 20 minutes the thorn bounty is simple if you can find people to help with the last part

I did it as a Hunter before the update. It was a huge pain then, so with the me weapon "balance", it'll be a bigger pain. Good luck man!

I did it on my hunter actually. I just used blade dancer which I hate. But went invisible and shotty or fusioned players. When heavy dropped I would use my corrective measure and steal kills. Otherwise I hung back and stayed out of the line of fire. Took me though a solid 3 hours because I am terrible at PvP.

It took me quite some time. Truth was the difference maker. Get a rocket launcher with void(hopefully truth). Wear gear that will increase heavy ammo. Always get to the heavies. With truth and ammo increase gear id pick up 4 rockets which is usually a guaranteed 4 kills(youll get good with them). 8 more or less guaranteed void kills. Play catious and use rockets and i think youll have a legit chance

I am utterly terrible at crucible, and I did it in two weeks of playing Saturday Sunday and Friday. I used an uncommon shotgun, void LMG, and up for anything. I was a void walker, but it didn't provide the kills necessary as you may think

Void Special Weapon/Void Heavy and if you have either the Word of Crota or Atheons Epilogue, those work too.

Use all void weapons if possible. I got word of crota a void sniper and truth. With any luck truth drops for you some time soon.

Its a challenge. If you aren't that good at crucible then you don't deserve the Thorn. Don't complain that it isn't fair to people who aren't as good in the crucible. You should play to your strengths. Also remember that the weapons grade doesn't matter, so a rare weapon is just as good as a legendary. If you're using a shotgun, blink and stay close to your opponent. If you are using a fusion, precharge around corners and find a fast charging fusion. Remember even a rare void fusion will be as good as a legendary. If you're using a sniper, camp as far as possible. Only play on big maps; I think there is a playlist for such maps. As for your heavy, bring a HMG. I know a launcher is easier to use however, heavy machine guns have a higher chance to get more kills, as there is more ammo. If you have word of crota, then you shouldn't have a problem Just remember that you don't need to rush anyone. This isn't Iron banner therefore, you don't have risk your life to save anyone. TL;DR play to your strengths, don't rush any one, a match where you get 1 kill and zero deaths is better than a match where you get 18 kills and 25 deaths. Good luck and remember, the point of this bounty is to filter out the unworthy, so stay strong and you should do just fine.
