I would if I were completely set on everything, however, I always find new reasons to save up, and doing that tactic can be wasteful, and cost a lot of time

Yeah, if your unhappy with your weapons, then get those first. I was lucky enough to get all my raid gear in one week and needed 63 shards to hit lv 30, hence my focus shifted away from weapon.
