Completed it twice. Only got the Scout Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Chatterwhite , Legendary Ship and a bunch of Ascendant materials. Really want armor gears. :(
Is it true you get a better chance at getting armor gears by playing Hard Mode? I could lvl up to 29 but I want save the shards for the Raid gears instead.

Beat it on hard last night got all ascendant shards and 1 damn ship

Edited by YahyaTV: 10/11/2014 12:32:31 PMThe drop rate is not higher, but you probably are better ranking your character up, it doubles your chances for raid gear. if all fails, you will get ascendant material back by completing the raid on hard. I upgraded my gear to 29, and 3 normal raids and 3 hard raids later I have all the gear I needed to go to 30 (I know I am fortunate compared to others), one of the runs gave me 12 shards. A quick note, not all loot chests can be claimed on hard if you have already collected in normal. I believe there is only one that can be claimed in both normal and hard which is the one in the Gorgon Labyrinth.

I will foreworn you though, Hard is actually Hard, make sure you have a strong set of 6 players 29+ and every1 understands their role and communicates well. Our fireteam will breeze through normal with no communication, but when it comes to hard, every1 has their tryhard pants on, in most circumstances if one person fails at their task, it results in a wipe and needing to restart from previous checkpoint.

Oh, I see. The team I've played with only consisted of one lvl 29 so far, with two more reaching 29 soon once they get enough shards I think. These three all have one raid armor each.

drops in hard mode aren't increased. I wish. my group did have two mythocasts drop this week though

Wow, I wouldn't mind getting the Vex Mythoclast as well. What about the Helm(s), is it only through Hard mode?

I got a helm in each run of hard mode, had to dismantle the second. not guaranteed though, saw ppl just getting the sparrow n ship n shards

Is the helm only from defeating Atheon or is it rewarded randomly?

can't confirm but it's the only place I got it as a reward along with the sparrow and ship

Helm is in fact only available in hard mode.

F no. I've beaten it twice on Hard and BOTH times all I got was a legendary sparrow. Screw you Bungie!
