WTF IS THE DEAL WITH CRYPTARCH LVL?!!!!!!!
My cryptarch lvl is 8 almost 9 and I never get legendaries for purple engram drops. Only have had one purple and I have decrypted at least 8!!!! Then my friend whose lvl is 2 gets his first one and gets an exotic?!!!!! WTF MAN. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE DEAL IS?

Well I'm a level 168 and I still rarely get legendary engrams, when I do it turns to materials. So just get used to it

Seriously, i leveled up my cryptarch like 15 times across all my characters and not one purple engram. They really should change the color of the packages from purple to blue. More proper advertisement. And yes i see the date, and yet i still posted cause i hate -blam!-ing rahool.

Dude im 40 cryptach and he rarely gives me purples when I level up and the purples I find as engrams are almost always shards or energies.

Bungie fooled everyone with that. His level doesn't mean jack shit, I've heard of people with level sixty or higher see little in the ways of legendary engrams. Amusingly I got a Longbow Synth from a blue engram a couple days ago.
