After installing the game twice and thoroughly testing my connection I have deduced that if you are getting the centipede error code like I am that Bungie has not adjusted for University hubs or server connection. No one on my floor can play and are getting the same error code. My brother is not at University and is getting the Cattle error. I'm not sure what is going on but I hope these issues are resolved as soon as possible because I'm already weary of this purchase. I love Bungie but mass server issues and error codes on the first night sends a bad message. Furthermore there is no support to assist. I will see what happens tomorrow but my guess is that these issues will not be fully resolved any time soon. It also seems odd that one specific code is designed for University hub/server errors. Who else are having these issues? What is happening elsewhere?

6 RepliesGood morrow, fellow Guardians. I have been working with my schools IT department and I even brought them my Xbone to troubleshoot. They said that the company that makes their packet shaper is going to push out an update on Monday to let Destiny through. Hold fast, Guardians.

Kent State Students: I got a call from IT about Destiny. He said they have found a work around for the network to be able to play destiny on the gaming network. He said this work around is only until the system they use for the network is updated and then with that update the network will not classify destiny as "bit torrent". This has nothing to do with ports. So for people at Kent State it should work! I know others at Kent are playing! Good luck to all others waiting, that's the info from our IT.

14 RepliesHey guys I'm not sure if this will solve your issue but I've had centipede and marionberry codes all throughout the midnight release date. I hooked up my console to my laptop through an ethernet cable and am sharing internet via my computers wifi to my console. This has worked great and I've had no problems with disconnecting or anything. Yes its annoying to do this but it was a fix for me and allows me to play until they fix this problem,. Hope this might help some of y'all. This is exactly how to do this for PC owners: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/networking/win-computer This is for mac owners: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/networking/connect-using-mac

Has anyone tried a VPN connection to their xbox one? i couldn't get it to recognize connection.

2 RepliesHello everyone I am currently playing Destiny on a uni internet through the use of a VPN. I share the VPN connection from my laptop to a router via Ethernet cable which my PS4 connects to wirelessly and allows me to play when I normally could not. I have not gotten the Centipede error since. Please keep in mind that this may be against your university's internet terms of service and it isn't the easiest thing to do, but for those of you dying to play like me it is the price to pay at this point. Good luck to all of you! Hopefully this stuff gets resolved soon.

1 ReplyBaylor University, TX XBone with Open NAT, no network issues. Error: Centipede Have contacted school IT about it, awaiting response. Hopefully they can come up with a solution. Since this is affecting most universities across the nation, however, I think it's something that Bungie needs to fix, not something that every college campus needs to fix.

9 RepliesKent State University, (northeast OH) PS4 NAT Type 1 Error: Centipede I haven't even been able to get to character creation. I just want to play this game. I contacted the IT guys here and they responded with this: "The Kent State University network team is looking to the issues with Destiny. The game itself behaves like a P2P networking client, which is in turn blocked by the universities firewall. We are not able to disable the firewall for security reasons. It would appear that it is up to Bungie to apply a fix for this problem. If we get any new information regarding the ability to play Destiny, we will update you. Have a great night"

3 RepliesDay 4 at Kent State, still getting the centipede.

It seems like the temperament of you IT department is going to spell success or failure of whether or not you can play destiny. Received an email from IT at Dayton, and said with help from bungie they let the p2p data through.
