Fate/Stay Night is a million times better than Fate/Zero.

Ehh... Some parts of it are (such as Nine Bullet Revolver and the Archer vs Shirou), but as a whole I think Fate/Zero is better.

Nah, the entire thing is. The entire cave scene at the end of HF alone is probably better than Fate/Zero. Rider vs Saber, Rin wrecking shit with the Sword of Zelretch, Shirou ending Saber, Rin and Sakura confrontation, Kirei vs Shirou, Ilya's sacrifice... all of it was amazing. In comparison Fate/Zero has hardly as many moments that I would consider equally as amazing. Don't get me wrong, Fate/Zero is amazing and one of my favourite anime. But Fate/Stay Night beats it by a long shot.

Heavens Feel only has a good ending though, everything before the cave is pretty fu­cking boring. UBW is just as good as Heavens Feel, but the difference is that it spreads out its stuff where as HF jams it all in the end. Fate is the only route that's really boring, but unfortunately it's also the most important one since HF and UBW don't make a lot of sense without it. Which is kind of what worries me about the Ufotable remake. I really can't see them adequately doing all three unless they're allowed to do three seasons which means that we're likely going to get another combination of all three routes. Which isn't bad imo, but it really needs to be done carefully or we'll get a DEEN repeat.

The only real downsides of HF were the cooking scenes and Sakura's fevers. Granted it is rather slow at the start, but it still has plenty of good scenes other than the ending (the forest having most of them, but also Shirou's decision to drop his ideal being another). Even Fate isn't that bad, though it is definitely the worst of the three. The Continuation of the Dream epilogue is amazing. I honestly doubt ufotable will be doing all three. The best option would be to focus on a single route but throw in extra scenes from other routes, or add new scenes entirely. I'm not really talking DEEN style where they tried to incorporate a bit of HF into Fate, I'm talking entirely new scenes that could have happened in the context of whatever route they are doing. For example, HF doesn't really have much Caster at all, but ufotable could add characterization to her before her death (actually show Kuzuki saving her, show her summoning Assassin, create scenes where she talks with Assassin, etc). Another example could be throwing in more Gil scenes (more conversations between Kirei and Gil, maybe) during HF. This would give anime only viewers an actual reason to care about the characters before they are thrown on the chopping block (like HF does with alot of characters), but at the same time not deviate from the actual route itself. Kinda like how Game of Thrones adds in scenes that [i]could[/i] have happened in the novels, but the novels don't show those scenes.

I lump the forest in with the cave since they're pretty much right next to each other on the HF timeline. Still part of the ending sequence. Say they did primarily do the HF route, which is a terrible follow up to the saber story which is kind of prominent in Fate/Zero near the end since Saber doesn't really get any closure (again) and Gilgamesh dies like a bitch. Say they also did what you said and threw in scenes that could have happened. I really don't know how they'd be able to do things like the revelation of Archer being Shirou's future self (a major plot point) well without it seeming kind of ham fisted. A final Gilgamesh vs Saber fight to wrap up that story thread from fate/zero could possibly done before he dies like a bitch to Sakura, but it would really feel out of place. The real problem is that UBW is kind of like required reading for HF and Fate is like required reading for UBW. The VN just from its nature or every route being canon doesn't lend itself very well towards adaptation. I can't really see HF being the main focus working out very well (even though it does have some of the best fight scenes and moments) due to the fact that without the other two routes it's impact is kind of lost. EDIT: Caster .gif cause caster is moe.

Saber's story was only a part of Fate/Zero. Sakura's story is another part of it, and unlike Saber who at least plays a part in the HF, she plays zero role n any of the other routes. Completely ignoring Sakura (despite that they advertise it as the story of the next generation children) would be stupid. Archer being Shirou's future self isn't really a major plot point in HF. Even if they just implied it like they did in the route, nothing would be lost. Anime only fans could easily piece together the pieces and figure it out for themselves, but even if they didn't, there is no reason they would be confused or anything. I don't see why Gilgamesh needs a fight between Saber. The plot line of Gilgamesh wanting to marry Saber isn't important, and I don't really think it needs closure. It's not even like it was important in Fate/Zero. He is 'interested' in her and proposes to her at the end, but it was just a side plot that had hardly any focus. If they ignored it in the upcoming adaption it isn't that big of a deal. The only reason the other routes are required reading for HF is because of lost characterization. They skip over stuff and all the Servants get almost no focus and usually end up dying before they even do anything. And like I said, that can easily be fixed by creating scenes. Certain things like Saber's death are definitely less dramatic without the other routes, but given that most of the people going into it will have watched Fate/Zero, it will still be heartbreaking for them. Overall, Heaven's Feel IS the best route to follow up after Fate/Zero. It follows up almost all the plot lines from Fate/Zero, save a few. Things like Rin/Sakura's relationship, Ilya/Shirou's relationship, Sakura's suffering, Zouken, Kirei's answer, etc are either hardly touched upon or not touched upon at all. At this point I have no idea what they will do. They might do Fate just because of Saber's popularity. They might do UBW, though I think it is the least likely. They might do HF because it is the best option. They might do an original route (Ilya route plz) or try and combine all three. They might end up doing all three routes, but frankly I honestly don't want that as I feel the quality of all three will end up being diminished. Anyway, I'm going to bed, so if you reply I won't be responding for a while.

Didn't the same happen with Attack on Titan and a lot of other Animes? They made a conscious decision to start killing everyone off.

we the basis of Fate/ is that "there can only be one" so essentially its a death match from the start. so yes conscious decision to kill everyone off :D
