It's interesting and it certainly makes you think how the rest if this gen will play out but it ultimately doesn't matter.
Get the console that you will enjoy and be happy. Numbers and specs are only for those who want online pissing contests.
That said, I have a feeling that those here who are so quick to decry this technical disparity would be running their mouths if the tables were turned. Likewise, those who run their mouths about this would be quick to decry this if "their console" was the weaker console, spec-wise.
Fanboyism is an ugly color, no matter how you wear it.
Get the console that you will enjoy and be happy. Numbers and specs are only for those who want online pissing contests.
I do disagree, good sir. It makes decision-making for people on-the-fence easier. It is also enlightening for me on the Xbox One because, ha, ha! There's no point in getting a 1080p TV! This makes me happy about the fact that I can't afford a 1080p TV because Xbox games can't even run at 1080p native without stuttering. Except Forza 5. Because whomever made Forza 5 (I think it was Sledge Hammer) knows how to use the fecking hardware. Hopefully it runs at 60fps or at least 50fps...

I was mostly talking about people who already had their minds made up and are just arguing specs for no good reason. 1080p TVs are pretty cheap these days so if someone really wanted one, they could get one so that shouldn't really be a sticking point. I will probably end up getting another one to replace the one in my living room in the next few years. Living room TV will go to the bedroom and I'm not sure what I will do with my current bedroom TV. I fully intend on getting both the PS4 and XB1 but I'm getting a PS4 first. It's cheaper and multiplatforms will look better on it. It isn't make or break by any means but it is what will determine which system I play my multiplats on. That, and exclusives I want for the PS4 (ex: Second Son) are going to come out sooner than ones I want for the XB1 (ex: Halo). But that's my preference. You clearly have yours and that's A-OK. :)

Edited by JAMES Z666: 10/31/2013 8:46:31 PMSure if you have hundreds of spare dollars lying around. I certainly don't. I'm already struggling to accumulate enough money for an Xbox One. No way am I going to try to save up for a 1080p TV. I already sold my Wii U, PS3, and most of my DVDs and Xbox 360 video games, and all of my Wii U video games and PS3 video games. There's no point anyway because of the fact that apparently most next-gen games are 720p or they're upscaled. I'm getting a PS4 as well as an Xbox One so I'm just seeing which platform each game looks best on and then get it on that first. And then if my friends get the game on the other platform, get a cheap second-hand copy of that game on the other platform as well...

Edited by I Am The Guitar: 10/31/2013 8:41:19 PM
Because whomever made Forza 5 (I think it was Sledge Hammer)
It was Turn 10 Studios, the only game SledgeHammer worked on was MW3.

Well said. Me personally, the fact that CoD: Ghosts gets DLC for Xbox a month before other systems is more than enough to make up for the disparity. Same deal goes for getting the Second Assault DLC for BF4 on day one for XB1. Thats not to say I would still like to get the best of both worlds... but unfortunately it isn't an ideal world we live in. Oh well, gotta make due with the cards your dealt.

Also if you pre-order BF4 you get some content that will come with it at no extra cost which also comes out for other users who haven't pre-ordered BF4, but 6 months later, meaning people who've pre-ordered BF4 get the free content 6 months earlier than normal people. On the Xbox One you get more early-access content on the pre-ordered copies than on the pre-ordered copies of BF4 available on the PS4. However after 6 months the remaining content comes out for free for everybody on all platforms for anybody who doesn't have it yet, but Xbox One users who've pre-ordered BF4 get more early-access content than users on all other platforms. Which won't become available to other pre-ordered platforms users for 6 months and for all users on all platforms who haven't pre-ordered will get everything they don't have for free in 6 months as well... This is on top of Second Assualt coming out two days earlier on Xbox One. However on Ghosts all pre-ordered gamers get all the same early-access content available to others for free after 6 months. But they get all of the paid DLCs available for purchase or if you have a season pass then for download without purchase, which will be available on the Xbox One 2 days earlier than all other platforms including 360 at which point it will become available on all other platforms at the same time.

Agreed.
