Oedipus. Dude -blam!-ed his mother, and killed his Father. Sounds way more tragic than becoming one of the more iconic villains in existence.

Hey, he did get laid. Doesn't that count for anything?
-
Not when it's with your Mom.
-
Though I would agree, would you bang your mom if she was Kate Upton or Kate Middleton?
-
basically any greek tragedy trumps star wars
-
Come on now, no way

I meant in the tragedy department, not overall. That'd be silly

Speaking of Greek tragedies... Kratos. He was originally slated to actually die at the end of God of War. He invokes the power of a god to save him in his time of need, a god who then twists him to kill his own mother and daughter, he then spends the next few years slaving away for the rest of the pantheon to get rid of the memories, killing virtually everything that moves, before finally being tasked with killing the mother-blam!-er who made him kill his family, killing virtually everything that moves in doing so, before they finally tell him: Nope, nothing we can do. Kratos laid a path of carnage and human wreckage all because of hope and at the end of the game that hope was crushed, at the end all of his anger, hate and rage just turns to sadness and depression and he prepares to kill himself by flinging himself into the sea.
