Today, I logged in to find some unpleasant news: my name has been redacted. "Antifa" is a name that represents who I am, and I am proud to be anti-fascist. This does not mean I am a violent or aggressive person—I have never disrespected anyone in-game.
Being anti-fascist means standing for a world where human rights, equality, and non-discrimination are not just ideals, but lived realities. It is a commitment to ensuring that every person—regardless of race, religion, gender, or background—is treated with dignity and respect. It means rejecting hatred, division, and oppression in all their forms and actively working toward a society where justice, solidarity, and freedom are the foundation of our collective future. For me, anti-fascism is not just a stance; it is a moral responsibility to uphold the principles that make us truly human.
I understand that some people may be offended, and you have chosen to listen to them. But does this mean Bungie now supports censorship? Is this really one of your values?
To make matters worse, I don’t even have a token to change my name. What am I supposed to do?
At the very least, give me the option to change my name again—or better yet, reverse this absurd censorship!
Edit 27/11 :
I’d like to close this topic. Admittedly, I hadn’t noticed in the code of conduct that political references were not allowed, even though many usernames openly display them.
I truly find this regrettable. It’s important to remember that your game is international, and U.S. classifications don’t apply everywhere. Moreover, I thought Bungie aligned more closely with my values than with those of the current government. But since political discussions are off-limits, I’ll close the debate—even though the topic is inherently political in the end.
Simple feedback: Provide name-change tokens to users who have been censored. I didn’t choose my name to provoke anyone. Alternatively, allow a name-change option—even if it’s paid. It was better when Steam names were used in-game!

1 ReplyCan a Ninja do something about this please? This is the second topic spamming this nonsense in 2 days.

1 ReplyProbably since trump declared it a terrorist organization. Any kind of affiliation to it would look bad on bungie's part. Just like the hunter gauntlets a while back that had -blam!- on it.

Locked as requested.

2 RepliesAntifa are domestic terrorists. Your name deserved to have been changed and you deserve a ban.

Edited by The-IIID-Emp1r3: 11/26/2025 2:09:13 AM>uses a name that's now designated >it gets redacted >>but y mai naem redactid bungee¿ You're on the wrong side of history. You knew exactly what you were doing when you used THAT as a name, you don't get to act all innocent, times have changed and people are tired of it all. Bungie didn't censor you because they wanna be haters, they did it because it's a precautionary measure. Either use a normal name tag or pack up & leave, it's that simple, yours was political but I see so many people with absolutely ToS breaking nametags in this game almost every time I play and sure enough people keep doing it because bungie let's them just do as they please. Count yourself lucky your name being redacted is ALL they did & not worse, bungie reserves the right to yeet anyone's bnet name at any given moment for any reason at all.

You should get banned for writing the date like that.

1 ReplyAntifa is not "anti-fascist" though. It's a label some people adopt to feel righteous in dehumanizing "fascists". It's just one side in the self-defeating dichotomy of the American culture war.

5 RepliesI mean what did you expect. It’s like me having the name A*s muncher as my gamertag and being surprised it got changed 💀

this is the funniest post.

I miss the cosplay fights that seemed to be every weekend awhile back.

You have to pick a name that doesn’t rustle anyone’s jimmies, otherwise it might get removed. Been that way for a long time. Nothing new.
-
Bungie has always had censorship. Up to this point, it just wasn’t censorship that affected you. I disagree with how absurd some of the things they censor are, but it’s their game, their business, their choice.
-
3 RepliesPretty sure the rules say: no politic. It’s not censorship.
-
Everyone who isn't a fascist should be anti fascist. I applaud you. But as was pointed out, it's been designated a terrorist organisation, and Bungie is based in the US.
