Why are we assuming you won't need to spec into healing to see benefits from rift?

  • So the other class abilities might not because they don't refund ability energy, but plenty of exotics do.

Should you need to get weapons for that? Healing rift should have heath stat? Shouldn’t be added to those, probably shouldn’t be added to gamblers. Not without adding more utility into the class ability. Yeah, a class ability should just need class stat.

  • It's weird because Bungie made health essentially save you on orb healing mods, and weapons separates the boss and minor enemy damage bonuses. For example an empowering rift warlock would need a minimum of 100 points in weapons for get the buff against minors and 200 for full damage against bosses. And the buff wouldn't work as effectively for heavy weapons. Though if that was the case it would also affect all weapon damage perks and radiant dodge, which would cause more outcry. Similar situation for healing rift (I double checked earlier and it's just grants healing from orbs) and Phoenix dive. If these were impacted it is feasible to assume all sources of healing would be. Do I think the hunter change is the end of the world, no. Because for one it is likely not a change that only affects gamblers dodge and may also affect exotics that refund ability energy like monte carlo. Second given that Bungie is making 200 the stat cap, it will probably be a lot easier to have all stats closer to 100 than it is now.

  • As far as we know, that's not happening, but oh dear god would it ever be awful if it was. Please don't give Bungie any ideas.

  • Ok on a second look it specifically said healing from orbs. But may I note that most titan builds will all but demand high strength. Because things like peregrines as an example is an external source of melee energy. Sol Invictus might be highly nerfed, devour, into the fray, stasis shards, elemental pick ups, ionic traces, and who knows how many exotics could be nerfed purely based on you stat distribution. Which creates another problem of getting a perfect armor stat roll, being less useful after 6 months because of seasonal bonuses. Just more potential (and I do mean potential) reasons to not want to play the new expansion.
