I agree with this statement, what would you like to see changed so far?

There should be a catchup mechanic so new players only need to do final shape campaign for starters. And make it perfectly clear what new players should do and go first instead of showing 10 expansions in store with no clue what to buy or where to start. They just see a tone of destinations and waste so much time while confused. The campaign should have a new difficulty and call it tutorial. Would be way simpler for new players with a tutorial catered to them explaining mechanics and puzzles and easing into the game while teaching the basics then working up and getting players used to setting up a loadout gradually instead of all at once. That way they get caught up to everyone else know the story and instead of getting there asses kicked and overwhelmed in campaign having to check google or YouTube every 15 minutes they will be trained in the time of the campaign on how to summon a dam sparrow and that it has a boost and have an idea what weapons, synergy supers etc and play style they like for certain situations. And they will have had practice saving gear and knowing what to keep and upgrade. The campaign should start them with void then ease them into ark then into solar then prismatic. The goal in mind of campaign to have a new player trained on his guardian spec and upgrading gear/ weapons and basic understanding of mechanics in game etc. When the campaign is finished. They need to make a clear path of where to go next with stepping stones to get players taught mechanics and ready for bigger and bigger challenges Perhaps there can be a tutorial strike, then tutorial raid. Even if these tutorials had your fire team as just computer they could teach basics and mechanics while new players learn and gear up. These tutorials could prepare for standard raid then eventually the real thing. Like my first nightfall I had no clue I had to stun barrier champions etc because I was already to overwhelmed by everything else. Like crank open a fire hydrant and expect to catch it all in the mouth is about the same expectation here. Unrealistic. The game should also find a way to condense everything into one place. Maybe make it an option with everything in tabs . The amount of time I still have waste looking for everything under destination is unreal. Simplify. This would be a big start. I think if they got creative this would work really well for not much added cost. Just add cut scenes of guardian getting hit hard in head and being retrained on everything. Select the build for starters before each quest line. Then gradually let the new player select the build for a challenge and let them pick weapons but give recommendations and grade the synergy. Ways to make it work a bit of creativity and boom. Or just have a series of tutorials on their own but would have to make it fun. And let it grant gear maybe so it’s productive while learning. Like the unlimited super quest to get the hang of prismatic super. More crap like that.

  • A lot of this is actually in the works for the next expansion. Like, 11 years late.
