I think it's safe to say that nobody really wanted Marathon, you never should have taken resources from Destiny for Marathon. With that being said you guys have a lot of work ahead of you to fix this game.
What's is that based on? Is that based on the fact that the game isn't out yet and already has a decent sized group following it and waiting for its release? Just because you want them to make Destiny last another 20 years and milk it for everything it has doesn't mean them or Sony want that. It makes more sense to branch out and make more than 1 game.
Yesterday I sat in the tower for about 13 minutes watching a warlock spamming Blade Barrage, then Well of Radiance, then Thundercrash, then Word of Dawn, and finally spamming Silence and Squall. The whole time this warlock was using Icarus Dash all around the tower. This was minutes before Trials went live so that's really making people feel comfortable with the idea of going into Trials or even just going into Crucible for that matter. When you have a game where you're ranking Guardians also it's really sad to wonder if some of these rank 11 Guardians just hacked the game to get it because it looks like there's no care about the hackers anymore. Then of course when we look and see what system these people are playing on it's PC which makes a lot of us console players just wish there was no cross play.
Ok and? People cheating and hacking isn't something exclusive to Destiny and the fact that people keep doing it across a ton of games would clearly indicate that it's all but impossible to stop it permanently. Guardian rank is also meaningless, so there's no point it caring about what rank someone is or how they got to it. You also do know that pvp doesn't cross play console players with pc players unless a console player is in a fireteam with a pc player, right?
I do feel there's some decent improvements that were put in with this latest episode. I'm a big fan of the Rite of the Nine dungeons with the multiple different difficulties. For those of us that work a normal job and then come home we don't necessarily want to be stressed over super challenging content. I'm sure there's plenty of people that want to be challenged but some of us don't really want to be in that type of environment. Unless you're in a tight-knit group where you can always fill a fire team you're constantly playing with random people using fireteam finder.
Then, don't play a game that has a good portion of its endgame content revolving around that. Or just don't play that content and don't whine about being locked out of things because you made that choice.
I will say the nether is among the least favorite of any activity I've done on destiny. Not a fan of having to watch my health so much especially when I play Warlock and I have a healing rift that barely works.
There are ways to heal regularly and a decent amount unless you're intentionally picking only the things that cause you to take more damage. Also, again, if you don't like it, then don't play it. No one is forcing you to.
Crucible I don't really have much to say. I don't think there'll ever be a point in Destin where I will enjoy crucible. Especially with what I saw in the tower yesterday. I would love to get the ship out of Trials but I know that that's not a game mode I belong in.
It's a video game. Either play what you want to get what you want or don't. It's that simple.
Please continue to make more three person dungeons with the Rite of the Nine Style challenge difficulties. Those are a lot more doable than raids. Nobody feels comfortable getting a random person joining in a fire team finder for a new raid but dungeons are a lot less punishing this way. I know you focused really heavily on bringing the challenge back to Destiny which in my opinion has removed a lot of the fun for casual players. I think you guys are on to something with this new difficulty selection where casuals can still enjoy the content may not get the same flashy rewards but they can at least enjoy the content and get some rewards
This game has never been made for casual players outside of year 1 d2. Its literal whole thing is putting time into the game to get things. The difficulty changes coming in edge of fate won't remove the need to play endgame content. All it will do is make some of it easier, but it'll still require either an amount of time be put into playing it or to turn the difficulty up to get better gear. Nome of that goes away. The only thing that really changes is that you'll have a playlist for easier activities to just do them solo.

To put it simply, these are my opinions. Forums are there for opinions and to compare thoughts. I appreciate your opinions on my thoughts, but no game is perfect. These are just how I feel on the current state of the game. I hope you read Paul Tassi's work, but I think you are more attuned to Aztecross. Even Datto has some bleak things to say. You even managed to negatively comment on my positive comment about the game. That's almost like getting after someone for saying water is wet and refreshing. At the end of the day we will disagree on many things, but that does not prevent me from respecting your opinion or prevent me from being a friend to you.

I also never plan to read any clearly click bait article. Also, am I supposed to care what youtubers think about a game? I have free will and can think for myself. It's also funny how a community that complains about bungie listening to youtubers and stuff all the time like to use them as their examples.
You even managed to negatively comment on my positive comment about the game. That's almost like getting after someone for saying water is wet and refreshing.
Water isn't wet. Also, if you read correctly, you'd have noticed how I didn't reply to the positive things and instead went for replying about the exact things that have been proven to cause more people to quit. Like the fact that making the game significantly more casual is the quickest way to return to d2 year 1 and kill the game like that year almost did.
At the end of the day we will disagree on many things, but that does not prevent me from respecting your opinion or prevent me from being a friend to you.
More people need to have this mentality. Had too many people on here just resort to telling others not to reply if they don't agree or they just resort to insults and threats when they don't get the response they wanted.

People just want to exaggerate and be overly dramatic Seriously, the game is no where close as bad as they’re making it out to be. While there are some valid criticisms, many are just burnt out and have a weird hate/love relationship with it and want everyone else to hate it too
-
Exactly. They can't seem to handle it if everyone doesn't hate the same things as them.
