1. Agreed.
2. I'm rubbish at it so I expect to be punished like I paid to be.
3. Are you referring to seasons being gone on this one?
4. Some people think adding matchmaking to raids would make it easier; your post appears to suggest otherwise.

He doesn't understand that trials is end game pvp, cut him some slack on #2 Can't tell if it's the games fault for not telling him to learn first and telling it's end game

I wasn't giving the OP grief on number 2; I was speaking for myself. I suck at PvP and expect to get punished whenever I play it.
-
Ah ok ok, understandable
3. Are you referring to seasons being gone on this one?
I think he means for example the Forsaken Pack not including the campaign since Tangled Shore got removed. Tbh they should just make the Forsaken pack F2P so there isn't confusion there when people buy it after seeing trailers and are missing half the actual content for it.
-
Then he should have mentioned this. Instead that sounds like you were buying expansions without being able to play the campaigns. Also - the Forsaken pack mentions what it contains.... there's no mention of a campaign.
-
New players won't have a clue if Forsaken Pack doesn't include a campaign because it used to and the first thing you look up when you type "destiny 2 forsaken" is videos of the campaign.
-
And that's why you look at the product description. Or do you want Bungie to make sure each single old video on every platform gets a "campaign currently unavailable" disclaimer? The campaign is gone.

Edited by xbroggiex: 3/14/2025 11:38:19 AMBungie should streamline their DLC, make more of the legacy content F2P to cut down on the bloat of purchases. Its a key to keeping an aging game alive otherwise you can't get new players invested by throwing 50 dlcs at them to buy.
Or do you want Bungie to make sure each single old video on every platform gets a "campaign currently unavailable" disclaimer?
Ideally the content should've never been removed so this wouldn't be a problem in the first place.

It's gone,. you know why and why it was useless, the DLC doesn't mention a campaign so people should not expect one unless they can't read.

Edited by xbroggiex: 3/14/2025 11:46:50 AM
It's gone,. you know why and why it was useless,
Its not useless if it helps retain new players with world building and content to engage them in. The game struggles to retain new players because of its constant removal and addition of content that is also key to the main narrative.
the DLC doesn't mention a campaign so people should not expect one unless they can't read.
If people look it up they'll see conflicting information of a Forsaken campaign gameplay and then people saying its gone but you can still buy it and a new player will easily get confused about that. If you looked into it enough you could gleam exactly what you get from the pack but this is an issue that should be solved by just making it F2P. Also, have you seen your average destiny player? They can't even pass a ball so reading is probably a herculean task for them.

It's irrelevant for the story now and you are more than welcome to prove that its absence is a major factor contributing to people leaving. Story-wise it's very indirectly related to the light&dark saga of the witness against the light. It was removed over four years ago. Bringing it up over and over again without even being able to demonstrate the impact of its removal is just pure moaning for the moaning's sake.
It's irrelevant for the story now and you are more than welcome to prove that its absence is a major factor contributing to people leaving.
TFS is a good example. Crow's story doesn't land when Forsaken's campaign, hunt, chosen etc. are missing. Zavala is the only story that kind of works but is still missing context from haunted and Forsaken. Cayde you are supposed to care about but none of the content with him in it exists within D2 anymore outside TFS. https://steamcharts.com/app/1085660 There isn't a direct correlation to be made but its one of the issues with Destiny that people continue to rag on about being the new player experience so if a lot of people are saying its an issue... its probably an issue.
Story-wise it's very indirectly related to the light&dark saga of the witness against the light. It was removed over four years ago. Bringing it up over and over again without even being able to demonstrate the impact of its removal is just pure moaning for the moaning's sake.
Content is still continously removed and has key plot points that you cannot experience in game anymore. Its not a "four years ago" issue its still ongoing now. Just look at current episodes and seasons and they reguarly have to recap story from removed content just this week Eris had to recap Witch a bit to explain how she had a throne world.

Exactly. It's not a correlation. Numbers are numbers and affected by a whole lot of things. Some people here vocal doesn't mean their name complaints are valid. Here, they mostly even come from people that did know the campaigns. Crow is just a sidenote in the overall story. From a overall narrative PoV largely irrelevant for the main arc. It's not like B removed any mention of the Traveler. It's a live service game so certain things have to be sacrificed. Two more campaigns means there's two more campaigns to play before people can catch up. I'd bet only a few would make that decision. I am even going to ignore things like outdated loot. It was a business decision. The investment wasn't justified by the return. So it was axed.

It is most definitely a valid complaint, just because there isn't a direct correlation(we can make from the info we see) doesn't mean it isn't an issue and its not limited to just this forum like some complaints you see here. Story is just one issue with the new player experience but Bungie seems to be finally at least addressing some of the other issues like the director with the new Portal menu screen thing making it easier to see what is relevant now.
Two more campaigns means there's two more campaigns to play before people can catch up. I'd bet only a few would make that decision. I am even going to ignore things like outdated loot. Its going to become an issue again even though they promised no more expac vaulting in Lightfall a promise I think they know they can't keep. I don't see how they can keep releasing a RoI/Shadowkeep sized expac every 6 months for a few years without removing more content tbh. Because download size is also a key factor into the new player experience too.

Yeah lol I agree with the last statement, once they vault anything I bought, starting with the beyond light campaign, I'm out of here for good
