Ive read online it could be dont If i opened a support case with bungie, but they dont even seem to offer that option anymore.
-
If Im remembering what you’re talking about, that was only to transfer the active cross save from one linked account to another. They’ve never offered anything to directly transfer characters between different accounts.
-
So if you disable the active cross save you cant do anything? Even providing proof of ownership and identity wouldnt work? Since the 90 day thing is to combat fraud that would make sense no?
-
Edited by dc213baseball: 1/26/2025 11:20:34 PMCorrect. The 90 day cooldown is mandatory before you can re-enable cross save if it’s been deactivated. All of this is explained in the cross save guides.
-
But I dont understand, since I can prove ownership what fraud can take place at that point? Would it be possible to just enable it since I really want to jump into the new season coming up?
-
Doesn’t matter if you can prove it. If a hacker somehow also had your account credentials, they too could prove the details for login to the account. That doesn’t prove ownership or anything else. Thus why bungie takes a no exception policy to the rules.

Edited by Vibing Shiba: 1/26/2025 11:28:32 PMA hacker wouldnt have access to my goverment ID. If bungie needs that I can provide it. Or the paypal account/credit card even that was used for the transactions. I can provide all of that. Also I just want the state reverted to what it was before. How would a hacker benefit from that?
-
Again…all that is irrelevant to this topic. Bungie won’t help. All you can do is wait it out.
-
If you dont mind me asking, are you a bungie employee? I just dont see the reasonign why I cant be assisted with the issue at hand. The issue seems to be fraud and all Im saying is we can remove that from the picture. I just want to play the game again.

Edited by EckyThump: 1/27/2025 12:37:56 AMHey there. Even with the arguments presented, by setting cross-save up, you agreed to the unskippable 90-day cooldown. Not as a line of small print, or only in an on-site FAQ document, but as a clear statement that you had to mark as acknowledged with a check mark during the process, before you could continue.
"I understand that deactivating Cross Save at any point will result in an unskippable 90-day wait period before I can re-enable it."
That bit is also repeated on the deactivation screen. You can argue that the cooldown shouldn't be unskippable, that there should be exceptions, and that's valid, don't get me wrong. But the unskippable cooldown is indeed unskippable, as agreed. (As I understand also, the bit about fraud is nothing to do with account ownership, it was a way to exploit Silver purchases.)

Edited by dc213baseball: 1/26/2025 11:35:42 PMNo. Im not. Bungie employees have blue [bungie] tags by their names. But i dont need to be an employee to reply on the forums & pass along their policy. I’ll quote the official policy:
PLEASE NOTE If players disable their Cross Save for any reason they will have to wait out the 90-day lockout before they can enable Cross Save again. There are no exceptions to this policy.
https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049498031-Destiny-2-Cross-Save-Guide
