In particular, lightweight, adaptive and aggressive.
I get they were oppressive and meta on PC which is why bungie didn't give them the same pve buffs that nearly all other weapons got and in pvp they got nerfs, but now they feel awful. Especially if you compare them with and without peace keepers on titans.
In, pvp they feel bad, largely because of how reliant they are on crits, despite them not being precision weapons. I mean the past two weeks in iron banner, I been running multi mach and it's sad that it takes 20+ body shots for a kill (10+ crits for a kill) even with kinetic tremors, I had it happened plenty of times where I procd KT, and my opponent survived all 20 shots plus the KT pulses.
I think bungie needs to reduces the crit damage for these 3 archetypes and increase the base body shot damage. Then give them a 15% pve buff. Then to balance it for PC players, just increase the recoil for M&K players by 30-40%. I mean that's what bungie had to do for the last word a few years ago.

they need a pve buff yeah, pvp nah and the plague on pc was controller players using smg not mnk players wich is the smallest part of the pc pvp player base

1 ReplyI agree SMG’s currently are not the meta. I feel this is because of several factors being Pulse rifle ease of use/safety, special ammo economy being way to big, new fusion rifles range and radar pre charge slide tactic and abilities currently in the sand box. SMG’s do need a increase to body damage as it is currently to low. At least the same treatment 120’s just recently got in the PVP sand box. I would say currently if you are using a SMG I would stick to a light weight l’s as they offer some of the quickest TTK with higher msg reserves. I think they are Ok/good spot in PVE. Good take overall let’s see how they are after the clear incoming nerf to pulse rifles coming in the future.

4 RepliesOh no, SMGs can rot as far as PvP is concerned. Am I speaking from a bias viewpoint? Yes.
-
Agree right now shotguns and fusion are keeping smg usage down due to the nerfs and AR are better smgs range wise and ttk wise

I’d like to use manticore in something other than patrol. The gun is fun to use.

2 Replieslol nope ! We had a few months of smg meta this year ….we now currently on pulses for a few months .

11 RepliesEdited by Meaga: 12/8/2024 4:51:52 PMSMGS are still busted, and every gun in the game should punish you for missing headshots. Punishing people for missing is a good thing. Bullet hoses that let you miss headshots and still melt create the worst to play metas. The multimach which you mentioned by name to be bad, is actually broken inside of it’s effective range. Recluse is even worse when it comes to being unfair and shredding. SMGS already hard counter every close range weapon that is not TLW, Drang type sidearms, or a fusion rifle.

I can still vividly hear echoes of The Immortal ringing out in the distance.

I don’t care about them in pvp but I would really like for them to be buffed in pve. Ever since the removal of the spec mods smgs have been suffering. Especially the non exotic ones. And bungie always gives them the worst reload and handling stats. The only 2 that should matter for them.

7 Repliesas a pk titan I can say.... no.. no to all of these.
-
2 RepliesThey can always come back but with the way things are right now, those and autos should probably stay gone. At least with the way things have been in IB I'd rather avoid bullet hose lasso PvP
-
3 RepliesSmgs are not bad stop this lol 😂 you forgot the satire tag
-
2 RepliesThis feels like a complete nerf. Smgs take a lot of flinch in pve and have a lot of recoil even on pc so you'd need like a 30% buff just to make it worth it (Especially since they already struggle) and then you're also reducing the crit damage in pvp which would likely put them into the ttk spot of autos and increasing body likely would only allow them to kill at the same body ttk of an auto.

2 RepliesRun an Adaptive 900 smg
