Edited by eeriearcade: 9/2/2024 8:55:39 AMSome selected highlights for me: That first experience playing D1 and figuring out what the game was. Hanging out in the Cosmodrome with random guardians and testing out guns. Fighting Omnigul — tethering dozens of enemies in that room and then burning them all with Dragon’s Breath. The Taken King (my favourite expansion). The Sunless Cell strike. *chef’s kiss* Obtaining my Bolt-Caster sword. Unleashing my Bolt-Caster sword on a bunch of unsuspecting guardians and watching them fry. Many late nights of “just one more match” in the Crucible. Combined Arms! SRL! PoE! Gambit! Zipping around with Strand and watching my precious threadlings chase down enemies. The Iconoclasm mission (and smashing the rest of those statues in Excision). The environmental art team has always been fantastic, but especially their work on The Moon, The Dreadnaught, Titan, Golden Age Mercury, The Dreaming City, The Ascendant Realm, Europa and The Pale Heart. And let’s not forget the music and sound fx throughout. Etc, etc, etc… Maybe I’ll add more as I think of it.

I had a horrible accident in 2020. I couldn't walk and had pain so tough that I couldn't sleep for 14 days, except for a few hours. I played Destiny 2 in this time, practically for those two weeks as a distraction, and I think that saved me. That's a good experience, I will never forget.

Not so much in game but it’s definitely the friends you make along the way.

2 RepliesMy best memory with Destiny will forever be the House of Wolves expansion 🥹

Edited by AlteraLateralus: 9/2/2024 3:49:59 PMD1 Y1. Finally getting Gally after an 8-9 month grind. It dropped on my around 100th Crota's End completion. Then a week later, House of Wolves came out and started dropping Gallys like candy, the ultimate Bungie troll job.

Beating D1 Atheon without a mic using bad juju on my voidlock. Made me laugh so hard when the raid leader yelled at everyone for not following directions and then looks at me saying "This MFer doesn't even speak and even they know what to do right?" I'd emote to respond and he just screamed "EXACTLY!" Idr who they were but every now and then I think back to it and smile

Finishing the Thorn quest. I was shaking getting the last points I needed in the PvP part. A random dude helped me in the ogre room. Witches spawn in and we kill them. He even came to the tower with me to watch me collect Thorn. It felt great. Folks were really helpful back in the day…. Never used thorn🤣 I was a First Curse man😵💫 Having to use Radagahst Fury to DPS Crota because I didn’t have a Gjally 🤣 good times

To this day I still remember launch day of D1, I was 12, I asked my mom if she could get it for me as I had really enjoyed the beta of the game (although I knew next to nothing about how the looter shooter game actually worked) Still remember getting the game and holding the box in my hands for the PS3, and then from there it’s history of a love hate relationship with this franchise. I don’t play much anymore. But I have a decade of close friends that I talk to daily and see from time to time. That’s the best part of Destiny, not the gameplay but the scenarios to meet new people and potentially lifelong friends.

My biggest accomplishment was to get the Unbroken title solo on the old comp system. I’ve beaten all raids(including Spire of Stars), dungeons and have been on since D1. I’ve been a solo player my whole time so this was the hardest thing I have done in Destiny. When I equipped it I was static. Nothing to most people but my personal accomplishment

elitegtryin to work with whats left.. for now - 4/3/2026 12:46:30 PM
Joined D2 as FTP and when I played through the Red War (I think) when you start with no light.. and also you see the ruin of humanity scattered about (didn't know anything about the lore) and connecting the song Journey to that. To why we fight. Probably was going through some rough time.. that song.. never lets you go. Epic. -
12 Replies
Destiny celebrates its 10th anniversary very soon. What are your happiest moments playing D1 and D2? What sticks in your memory for all the right reasons? Save the salt for other posts please.
I started a multi hour long argument over which cereal is the best during a VoG run (it's Cinnamon Toast Crunch with Cocoa Pebbles taking second) and that makes me smile when I think about it.

Always remembering to switch out my raid armour before going to the tower in D1. If you went to the tower with raid armour on or the blue nf flame you would be bombarded with msgs asking for help.
What sticks in your memory for all the right reasons?
The original devs that knew what they were doing because they were gamers. We got to see some of their work that left a lot of good memories playing Destiny 1.

Edited by jr_0081: 9/7/2024 3:35:30 AMD1 -playing destiny for the first time when it first released it was on my dad account it was a warsat public event on the moon -hearing all ends are beginnings for the first time -beating skolas revenge -attempting wrath of the machine(never got to beat it tho) -beating ttk and rise of iron D2 -the red war campaign -forsaken -beating my first raid, days before beyond light it was the leviathan my team was so nice and helpful -the final shape This game will always be special for me. I hope bungie exclusives can get their act together and make good changes without having the game on life support and bring back everything that they removed from all the raids, campaigns, location and seasons.

D1: -Getting the exotic bounties done, was super excited. -Dropping Gjallarhorn from Will of Crota Nightfall in year 1 with my pal who dropped Hawkmoon, our dreams came true that day, 10 minutes partying at the screen. -First solo Nightfall against Valus Ta'aurc, wether i wanted it or not.... -Orbit soundtracks, hearing stuff like Ecstasy, the Path, Tribulation, Remembrance...... my god the feels when you hear those soundtracks the first time. D2 - Soundtracks here too, but on a longer span of time through the years, specially Beyond Light - The Witch Queen campaigns and its seasons, the lore behind there was massive (minus Plunder but was still something) - Finding my old pal from Black ops 2 times coming with me, still together today. - First time Deep Stone Crypt, still my favourite raid -First time facing Rhulk, loved that boss fight - Prophecy and Grasp of Avarice dungeons, damn traps were funny first time - Journey and the escape at the Red War - Ghost during the Final Shape

Some of my earliest memories of destiny is when I made a forum profile and asked for people to join me so i could kill them with void weapons for the thorn bounty 😂 the replies were so funny. But so many good memories playing destiny with friends and personal memories like doing my first raid which was kings fall I watched some videos and joined a group and completed it. And that was the first times of me getting rid of my anxiety when playing with other people. Then I was like top 10 supremacy players in the world, ranked high in destiny pvp overall. Still am today but it’s not my focus because I’ve been there and done it. Grinding the taken king with my brothers doing the dark blade strike to get the helmet was a good memory.

2 RepliesI only played D1 very casually, as until then I had only played single player games and it was a new experience that I wasn’t sure about, so I pretty much just did the campaign and played it like a linear solo game. D2 stuck, though. Completing the Leviathan was a great experience. I think my first exotic was Wings of Sacred Dawn, and I remember sporting it across the EDZ, not caring what it did just thinking it was the coolest-looking thing ever. Playing with my old clan, who’ve since vanished in the sands of time (meaning they probably quit Destiny) and one has passed. Forsaken’s campaign and doing that quest to unlock the Dreaming City, then doing it again when I first made a Hunter. Getting Anarchy. Zero Hour. Getting some more friends into the game when free-to-play launched. Just my first time doing each raid.

Killing hive knights with one punch using wormgod caress at x5, not sure if it's still possible after -5 everywhere

Edited by Caedric, Blade of Hefnd: 9/1/2024 8:06:37 AMCompleting my first ever solo flawless dungeon. That being Prophecy and doing King's Fall with my clan on my 18th birthday. And getting the crotas end jackpot legit a day before my birthday as well. I don't play this game as much as I used to but. The memories still linger

Messing around in the d1 tower in d1 Running lfg D1 nightfalls with randoms. Good times.

Edited by Dredgen Truth: 9/1/2024 5:15:42 AMFirst run to the lighthouse has gotta be a highlight for me. If anyone ever got their hands on my d1 save and deleted that adept blind perdition I would probably commit actual real murder. Second place goes to getting the last word to drop. Spent like half a year at least hoping that xur would bless me. Finally got it from a legacy engram and my family thought I'd been hurt with how loud i got after that.

D1 - outside of blink shotgun and the side arm meta... ALL of it. Every minute wasted was enjoyable for me. D2 - eh.. Season of Splicer was prolly my favorite seasonal content.. But D2 in general just ain't it. I tried, I remained stubborn, I said I'd "see this thru"... And it's kinda what I did. Perhaps 3 seasons I found enjoyable... 3.

1 ReplyHappiest? Probably my old raid team doing drunken raid nights. Hilarious 😂

Honestly, I don’t have a favorite moment in Destiny, but my first time jumping into the game and exploring the world, being inexperienced and finding the game to be so vast and the world seemingly infinite. That was peak Destiny for me.
