Bungie, please put a focus on PVP balancing. The lobby balancing is ridiculous. You end up on lopsided teams where one team has all the "skilled" players and the other becomes the prey. That really causes people, like me, to not want to play Crucible and sometimes your season challenges cause people to be forced into PVP. Make it Skilled Based Matchmaking. Let the PVP specialists all go against one another and leave the lower skilled players to have room to improve. You have these "try-hards" or "sweats" that go into regular queues and just clean up. How is that providing a good experience for the other player.
I know I will get a lot of negative comments for this but honestly, I've been playing this game for almost 10 years and each year it gets worst. Don't just focus on a new map or nerfing some gun. Really work on balancing this game out. Bring back your security team.

Sbmm has killed the population to the point where sbmm with tight skill bands is not possible anymore. Ironic.
-
You do have SBMM right now. SBMM doesn't work at all. It needs actual lobby balancing. This means evenly distributing good and bad players on teams like how teams are divided up in school dodgeball.

1 ReplyPvp strike team is probably suffering massive burnout. Do them and yourself a favor and play a different pvp game😁

Im seriously tired of these forced wins and losses. Along with the piss poor team balancing that gives me potatoes for teammates. And seriously wtf is up with this game and 5v6s and putting me in late matches all the time.

8 RepliesWe do have skill based matchmaking lol, what do you want at this point? Do you guys understand how pvp works? One team is gonna lose and the other is gonna win. It’s hilarious how many of you feel you should be winning all your games and have perfect lobbies. In a multiplayer game, perfect matchmaking doesn’t exist. You can have the best players in the world in one team and they can still lose because they could be running meme builds for fun or don’t feel like sweating. The game will put them on your team because of their actual skill but it doesn’t mean it’s an automatic win for you. The day you all learn to accept pvp for what it is, is the day you will all enjoy pvp.

We are not dealing with high level developers at Bungie. After years and years of bad PvP this is the only conclusion that can be made.

3 RepliesIs it not common knowledge sbmm is in everything except trials? Its part of the reason why the population is dead.

Some who have no idea will instantly go to their overused line saying SBMM killed the player base , others will claim it was CBMM .. Both are complete rubbish when we see the real cause in each lobby. The player base left the crucible because the absolute farce of lobby balancing we see in Destiny.. Why on earth should one side be stacked with the sweats who stomp the easy wins.. The lopsided lobbies are not one offs or random games they happen nearly every game and very very regularly.. There are still players who play pvp so saying it’s the low numbers is wrong because we still see how badly balanced the lobbies are , this is a solely Bungie issue

Lobby balancing still leaves something to be desired, but there are so few players.
Make it Skilled Based Matchmaking.
Don't just focus on a new map or nerfing some gun. Really work on balancing this game out. Bring back your security team.
That's been the focus for nearly a decade. We do need new maps. Guns need to be continually adjusted to make an environment of rock, paper, scissors. This game can't be balanced with random rolls and subclass builds. But I agree, the security team needs to be here in full force. But if you don't give yourself high speed internet, a monitor, and a controller with paddles, you aren't equipped to give yourself the best possible chance in these environments anyway. All the extreme segregation that happened thrusted us into a much worse state than what was happening before. Curated games to control win rate. Massive Lag. Changes to AE and Stability/flinch only to be all but reversed influenced the current state of things. These systems, how ever necessary in the eyes of some, needed better implementation or shouldn't have ever existed at all.

1 ReplyCompletely agree with you. TLDR: The messed up lobby balancing is to ensure a 50/50 win ratio. Have any of you ever paid attention to who gets placed on what team after a game or two? Example, after one match the system notices who the best players are on each team. After two matches it does the same but will mix up some of the bottom tier players. After three, any players that have lost twice, will be placed with the top players from both teams. The resulting team is usually sooooo good that even with only five players (i.e. 5v6) they still win. Why five players? Because I give the controller to my 4 year old who gets zero kills and gives the other team like 20 kills. After that match, the balancing keeps putting losing players with the best players to ensure they get wins.

Wait… There is a lobby balancing in this game 😂😂
-
Im guessing youre on about trials (given its the PvP youve done most recently). Trials cannot have balancing, it has to be random. If games were balanced and had a 50/50 chance of winning then flalwess wouldnt be possible.
-
Homie, if you don’t like it…leave the match. Or just don’t play in SBMM game modes!

I think first we need a clear way to measure skill. For example, in a dogfighting game called metalstorm there's a very simple trophy system. Win matches, get trophies. Lose matches, lose trophies. And the game always tries to match you against players with similar trophy scores so it stays relatively balanced. We need a visual way to see where we stand in the skill spectrum

1 ReplySkill issue at Bungie.
