Just had the exact same, returned to the game after a couple of years away and all my characters will get kicked as soon as something is killed.
Super annoying and doesn't seem to have any fix or workaround at the moment. Other posts mentioned Bungie as investigating but no further update.

This is happening to my hunter I just returned to from the start of destiny 2. I hope they look into this.

yea this seems to be a problem when you use a old character / most likely a character before they changed destiny 2 to steam. i just returned and havent played since 2018 and i cant kill 1 enemy before crashing back to main menu. it only happens on him and not on a new made character.

Having the same issue, returned after years wanting to go destiny again. Got myself an addon and its only kick after every freaking kill
