Pre Ordered Diablo 4 Today
Title says it.
Lightfall hurt. I can't stand Neomuna and can't bring myself to play that campaign again to complete it on my other characters.
Bought the big digital edition too because I have supported Destiny across both its iterations for nearly a decade now, and felt the content would be worth it due to the incoming changes.
It was not.
Last season was awash with horrible stability and server issues that were nearly a weekly problem. Mediocre and incredibly thin story drops. Terribly annoying, horribly written and developed 1-dimensional characters. The random killing off of one of my fave characters for literally no reason.
After the nonsense of this new season drop where they met none of their time windows at all... despite charging more for the seasons and openly talking about how they had plans to stop this sort of thing from happening.
Log in. Armor that is ugly as sin. Silly gimmicky autorifle that is pretty underwhelming at first glance. No real story beats to speak of... But what do I spy? A hundred new items in Eververse that cost real money 🙃.
Sloan herself even seems tired and bored. Uninspiring and monotone on comms. No real exposition. Nothing to add. Killed my excitement of seeing her again immediately.
I want to love you, Bungo. I want to love your game... But you've been acting the fool as a company for a long time now. As a result, I plan on jumping ship for Diablo 4 for the foreseeable future, which looks spectacular (Though I am no fan of Blizzard as a company. At all.)
Why does this matter? Well, it doesn't particularly to anyone but me... but I have spent 2500+ hours and a fair bit of scratch on this game over the years because I felt Bungo actually cared about the whole thing (weird right?). I am a very loyal customer with enough cash and no kids. Ideal market demographic tbh...
But yea... One of me? Not a huge loss. However, I feel I am very much not alone in the Destiny Vet community with regards to how I feel, and others may follow.
I have seen ALOT of big games come and go. Been gaming since Diablo 1 and Everquest 1 released basically. The ones that really anger their community or push towards heavier monetization die hard lonely deaths.
Gonna vote with my dollars and presence on this one.
Get your house in order, Bungo.

2 RepliesLol i feel you on this. I pre ordered diablo 4 after the last beta and it will be worth your time. I didn't even buy this seasonal content for Destiny. All you get was more time gated quest, same planets and fish lol. Rogue life begins next week. #ATC

No, this is not a joke, nor me trying to troll or anything like that. I don't get why so many people put faith in a business that constantly lies to them. There is selling your product, and then the BS of having devs make a video or go on Reddit/Twitter telling the blind fans how "proud they are of their work, and how good things are going to be, etc... sweet talking the fans to believing things they [b](can not or will not ever be able to promise.)[/b] It's a cheap selling tactic that 343 went way above and beyond with Halo Infinite that should have been removed from the shelves. This business did it with D2 base game as you can see they did it with LF because they knew how bad it was, and many other businesses pull the same BS. Buy now and will fix our broken game later. I could go on but you should get the point, There is liking a game, and there is stupidly blindly buying that is a huge problem with players that buy blindly and have been for many years now, and why a business like this one will continue to get away with the BS they pull.

11 RepliesWith how Activision Blizzard cut off pve from Overwatch and how they handle it with aggressive microtransactions, my guy you just bought a potentially worse game. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Bungo but what makes you think Diablo 4 will be better with Activision on the helm. Bet your azz they're going to exploit that game with loot boxes.

Have fun with Diablo! It's not my type of game at all (I tried it out) but I just think it's really boring lol. * I really am enjoying Monster Hunter though during the Destiny downtime/timegating periods

I feel the same way. Although, I don’t think D4 will be a replacement for Destiny just because of the lack of skill. It’s kinda a hack n slash kinda game. Still, it should keep me entertained while I wait to see if Bungie gets their ish together. By the reviews of S21 so far ( definitely too early to tell, but…) it doesn’t seem that we are seeing any of that Sony Money yet. Blackburn said we wouldn’t start seeing that influence until about S23. I’ll just keep checking the reviews and seeing what’s happening in D2 - but I can’t support the game with my wallet after how bad the content has been since S16.

Why do people get so strange around video games? Video games are not relationships. It's ok to play more than 1 game at a time. I'll be playing Diablo 4 too, not because I hate Destiny, but because I've played all of the main Diablo titles so far and don't see a reason to not play the 4th. It's not that big of a deal. All things considered it's a healthier habit and removes the feeling of burnout.

I'm going to wait until it's $40. Doesn't take Activision long to discount big games. MWII got the $40 treatment like 3 months after launch.

I played all the betas and trust me..it's fantastic. It's clear the toxic kids on these forums wasn't even wearing underwear the last time a diablo came out. Most of the people I play with will be switching over and we will probably dip back in to finish the weekly stories missions for 10mins in destiny.

After the overwatch 2 disaster the last company I would ever pre order a game from is blizzard. You would have to be a fool to have any sort of good faith in them at this point.

Stop pre-ordering games. As we know blizzard has been tanking their games as of late and who to say they won’t tank Diablo 4 too? Cancel that pre-order and wait for the game to release. If it is good then go ahead and purchase else if it is bad atleast you get to back out. Bottom line, stop pre-ordering games.

I also pre-ordered Diablo 4 but I'm still playing, and week continue to play, Destiny 2. They aren't remotely the same experience. With no power grind this season I'm freed up to play another grindy game alongside Destiny 2. Feels great.
