Yeah, at this point I’m kind of over the random raid exotic drops, maybe it’s just because all other exotics are handed out so frequently. The random drop FELT better in Destiny 1, for me at least. Honestly, I’m now more for quests like Touch of Malice (D1) where it requires you to do runs of the raid among other things. I don’t think asking for players to complete every encounter (not even in a single run) maybe 2 times is asking much. If you can’t do every encounter, you shouldn’t get it in my eyes. Outbreak was a bit much with the 4th monitor and having to have 1 of each class for the siva engine. But there is no reason why I should have the seal, requiring “mastery” of all encounters with challenges on master, before I get the exotic.

 • the master raids being required for the seal makes it so getting the raid title is more so earned, than given away. The challenges are significantly easier on regular mode, but having to do them on Master...that takes effort and skill. Seals that require 0 talent are the ones that are less likely to be flaunted.

 • I know. I’m not complaining about the seal.

 • I actually prefer the rng exotic, I wish we could go back to all exotics being rng after activities, was more exciting hoping you’d get a drop than doing boring lost sectors and getting everything after a few runs

 • I kind of agree. I mainly would advocate for a quest-based exotic because of how D2 is. Nowadays, we’re comparing not getting the raid exotic with the 100 other exotic drops we get from lost sectors and the season pass. We expect the raid exotic to be more similar in experience to get, thinking it should be relatively common like the others. In D1, all exotics were relatively rare. Especially since Xur cost strange coins and not shards, and exotics from the kiosk required an exotic shard. Also we have titles now which are meant to show our mastery over activities. It feels bad to have “mastered” the raid but not have everything collected from it when Joe Schmo got it his first clear after only running the boss and doing ad clear. In Destiny 1, I think random drops were fun and worked well. I just think D2’s systems hinder that experience.
