I have a friend running a 10900k and 3060 getting the same frame rates as me on an 11700k and 3080.
His GPU utilization is always around >90% where as mine fluctuates between 40-70%, mostly averaging around 70% with occasional jumps to 80’s.
My CPU usage is always very low as well (clocking around 4.75 with high performance plan).
My GPU temp is usually around 70C when playing on max performance.
I play on max settings 1440p (minus motion blur and depth of field, personal preference) and only getting around 2800mb VRAM, still low usage.
I did a clean windows install, clean nvidia driver install using DDU, and all my power settings windows/nvidia are on max performance.
Why is my 3080 performing no better than a 3060 on this game?
I noticed in some parts of the game if I increase my render resolution in game between 110-120, my GPU usage gets >90% and my frames increase as well, but in other parts it actually decreased my frames.
Is there something I’m overlooking?

Edited by force: 12/2/2022 2:55:14 AMIt really is destiny! We just downloaded halo infinite and ran the same settings, I was getting twice the fps. My gpu usage was actually over 90% too. Hopefully Destiny 3 is in the works and we can get an optimized game.

2 RepliesCannot say, I'm running an AMD5800x 32GB DDR4 and RTX3080 and I can run it on full details stable @ 165FPS (my monitor refresh rate), so I'm happy with it in either way :)

This game is very poorly optimized so you will not see much of a difference in the way it runs from GPU to GPU. Try comparing it to a more optimized game and you'll see more differences in performance.
