This is garbage. I’m rarely on at the same time as my clan, so I use LFG a lot. Yet so many times, I get kicked right before the boss dies. How am I supposed to play the game if I’m constantly getting kicked from activities so cheaters can guild their seals/ get credit for 3 man runs, etc.
If people have a toxic teammate, that’s fine. Let them kick that person from orbit. Is that slightly more inconvenient? Yes. But which is more detrimental to the game: requiring a higher bar for fireteam kicks, or allowing toxic behavior from fireteam leaders?
This could also maybe work from the wipe screen. Either way, mid-activity kicks encourage nothing but toxicity.

This has literally never been a problem for me. So either you have rotten luck, or people really don’t like you.
-
Stop talking so much. I'm quiet in general and have never been kicked from any activity.

1 ReplyThe main problem is the game needs to be able to protect BOTH sides. Team leaders need to be able to kick players that are not working out and the rest of the players need to be protected from a toxic/trolling Team leader. A better solution would be to disable the ability to kick players while an encounter is active. An encounter would be become inactive again after a wipe or after the loot has dropped. If a player continually starts an encounter before they can be kicked then the leader would need to go to orbit and boot them.

2 RepliesIf you're being kicked that often, then I don't think it's a stretch to say you're most likely the problem. Been playing this franchise since day 1 and not once have I been kicked like that.
-
You don't have an option to report that -blam!-? Like in game
-
I don’t think you know how a three-man run works. It looks at fire team members throughout the whole activity, not just the end
-
I like the idea of preventing players from getting screwed - but I don't think this is the way. I think it would be a good idea to lock the fireteam while encounters are active. Only being allowed to kick fireteam members after a whip or after clearing the encounter. Having to go to orbit to kick a toxic player would be too much.
-
Don't worry. They are building a new social system that launches sometime next year that definitely is going to fix all these problems and certainly is not going to be taken advantage of.
-
I could see a troll continually firing a bullet to start an encounter so he can’t be booted easily, just to waste everyone’s time. Likes this guys been told a hundred times, it’s obviously something’s he’s doing. Between d1 and d2 I got well over a thousand raids completed and this has never happened. It’s either make believe, or he had it coming one way or another.
-
Nah if you’re constantly causing wipes or not listening or improving then I’m booting you. Time is precious everyone has things to get on with in their life
-
If this has happened multiple times, maybe it’s you. Never once happened to me despite plenty of raid runs across almost every raid in D2. I saw it happen only once to my friend back in D1, and that was only because I pissed off the raid leader and he mistook my friend for me.
-
1 ReplyIf it happens to you often, you myst be doing something wrong Either because of your behaviour or if you were sabotaging. Out of ALL the raids ive done ive never seen somebody kicked before the loots (except when we do it with friends but it doesnt count) And if you are just unlucky : male your own fireteam :p
-
I NEVER got removed from my team without any reason, if you are heaving so many problems, probably you are the problem, not the team
-
Something weird is happening if it is happening to you "so many times". Throughout D1 and D2, I have hundreds of LFG raid completions and hundreds more dungeon, nightfall, and other activity completions. Literally never been kicked right before loot drop, and never seen it done to anyone else either. Not saying it doesn't happen and not saying that there aren't some crappy people out there. But if it is happening to you often (as in more than once or twice), something else is probably going on than just bad luck with running into toxic people. Though I will say that limiting kicking people to being out of an active encounter would be a plausible solution to the "problem". In other words, once the encounter starts, no kicking. Once the team wipes, kicking is permitted until restarting the encounter. I mean, there really isn't a logical reason to kick someone mid-encounter. So, if someone isn't pulling their weight, is being toxic, or is actively sabotaging the team, they can be kicked after a wipe.
-
Vote to kick should be required to kick somebody unless the team is in orbit.
-
no one is getting credit for a 3man by kicking someone mid fight.
-
I like how people are saying this has "never been an issue" even though its literally been a staple of LFG, especially in these forums, since D1. Bungie even released guided games in an attempt to combat this specific issue.
-
It sucks when it happens and I feel for you. I rarely join leg's cause this can happen. My advise is to make your own lfg, that way you can never be booted.
-
It sucks there's tools that allows trolls to troll but sounds like you need a clan that's more active during your playtime. Maybe instead of trying to fix a problem you have no control over you fix the problem you do? I dunno seems like there's an easy enough of a solution to me.
-
I almost exclusively raid using Lfg, doesn’t happen to me, if this is a problem for you try hosting the fireteam
-
This is why kick protection needs to be in destiny I have seen how outriders handled being kicked before loot destiny needs it bungie should learn from other games
-
In all my days of d1 and d2 I have never been kicked before the loot comes
-
This doesn’t happen.
-
Make your own fireteam as the leader.
-
Never been kicked once. Best to stay silent and give callouts only.
