Title.
Don't know when it began to feel this way but the times I got steamrolled match after match feels like skyrocketed. Maybe one match per day ends in 130ish to 150. Whole playlist is just mercy simulator.
Yeah and number of times I've used report for bad connection feels like atleast one player per match. Does it even do something? Crossplay brought only desync 1v1s and whoever was more lucky won the fight.
I want to enjoy PvP again... It's hard to specify which parts feel the worst, it's just overall feeling.
Edit: deleted one sentence out because it triggered so many people. I wish this community wasn't so toxic about something that should be common goal

251 RepliesThe issue isn't cross play. Its low player numbers (only 298k yesterday) and CBMM-induced skill creep. This is why SBMM is becoming industry standard. People just aren't willing to put up with the conditions that CBMM create anymore.
I want to enjoy PvP again... It's hard to specify which parts feel the worst, it's just overall feeling. Edit: deleted one sentence out because it triggered so many people. I wish this community wasn't so toxic about something that should be common goal
The problem is that there is an irreconciable split in the community, and Bungie is unwilling to pick a side. A split between people like you (and me) who define competition as "fun" (close, competitive matches)....and pubstompers who define domination of weaker players as "fun". So people who want competition pull for SBMM...while those who want the fun of beating up on lesser players (casual play, "relaxing") pull for CBMM. The problem is that CBMM creates conditions that are not sustainable. So the game slowly withers and dies. But those who want CBMM are in TOTAL denial of the fact that Crucible is slowly dying.

I play a lot of pvp for what ever reason, I don’t know. It’s a love hate relationship I guess. If the score ends pretty close or my team wins, it fun. If it’s like 50 points or more, it’s just not fun. I play matches for the fun, not to get mauled by the other team with a team of weak players. A really bad match I just leave. Trials I just don’t find it fun, I mostly hate it. I’m not the best player but there is no incentive for trials other than just getting a flawless title to impress others who don’t have it. I’ve never seen pvp in destiny balanced and I suspect it never will be. It’s a game of luck having the right teammates. By the way, I suspect someone with say something toxic as a reply.

4 RepliesEdited by J: 1/9/2022 4:19:05 AMMy overall crucible kd is a 2.4 and even I’ve been struggling in qp recently lmao due to lobby balancing most matches are a 1v6 and I have to hard carry, I feel bad for the bad players that get put on my team because they’re going to have it way worse obviously… I dont know if sbmm is the answer but my god something needs to change. Something else I’ve noticed is that gameplay is becoming EXTREMELY passive I don’t know if it’s because of the increased spawn timer and people are afraid to push or what but it’s definitely noticeable. It genuinely feels like year one levels of passiveness and team shooting but with weapons that absolutely melt you/one shot you.

5 RepliesTake a quick look at pinnacle PVP data: https://youtu.be/LLuIy8487bw (Drewskys Channel) * One character class dominates PVP * One armor piece dominates that class in PVP * One weapon type dominates all PVP events Bonus Weapon Info: Hand Cannon plus Shotgun kills in the last Trials = MORE THAN THE NEXT 12 WEAPON TYPES COMBINED! Bungie is approaching Games Workshop levels of incompetence for balance - yes, it's that bad. Bungie does not understand how to make real course corrections. BUNGIE: Please hire a couple of Master Statistical Engineers to take a look at your data and teach you how to set up matchmaking, class balance, armor balance and weapon balance.

In Trials one dude was using a wall hack and shooting through walls! Wasn't even trying to hide his cheating.
-
No, it IS awful! SBM needs to come back. This -blam!- just caters and rewards the sweeties and streamer types of players while making the experience worse for everyone else. That's why I ordered a refund of witch Queen and play other games more now. Save money and without the pain and BS.
-
6 RepliesIt needs Dedicated Regional Servers, let players choose their regional data centre based on best ping (like Respawn did with Titanfall 2) then remove CBMM and incorporate SBMM so players can match within their skill bracket…
-
I like PVP in most games but not Destiny. The PVP is terrible. The only thing semi-stomachable is the hardcore mode...which isn't permanent for some reason.
-
6 RepliesTrials isn’t for you casuals. It’s high end PvP content, not so you can go in with your 0.8 kd and go flawless 6 times. It’s about grinding to get better at PvP and face the best of the best for the flawless. Sick of casuals crying so they can go flawless more. Ridiculous

Played for the first time tonight for a while and it's absolutely garbage.
-
2 RepliesI'm actually considering not playing pvp at all anymore as my KD just keeps going down. If you manage to kill one of the elite they come after you like banshees. I only like Mayhem.
-
It is awful. You are not alone. Other than pinn/cat there is zero reason for players to participate in Bungie's hate-the-customer-fest. Hey @Bungie what is the official company policy regarding employees and streamers/youtube? No response, as expected rolleyes
-
Also, Skill should be everything!!!!!
-
2 RepliesThey gotta do something about lorentz driver. Easiest headshots in the game.
-
2 RepliesIf everyone would quit pvp and let the sweats have it bungie would have to fix it.
-
19 RepliesI said it before and I'll say it again, a pubstomp crucible cannot be 'casual' when the noobs pull out, and eventually they do pull out because they get tired of being stomped. Crucible will just get more sweaty as time goes out. The pubstompers will increase as the number of noobs decrease.
-
1 Replythey should have freelance on all cheatable match types. As a solo player i get stuck in matches with 4 or more people with under a 1.0 against a fireteam. And -blam!- if i'm paying some bungie employee making side cash to get me flawless....
-
4 RepliesAnd lots of console cheaters using modded controllers or mnk with Cronus/Xim/Titan ll/ etc. These are getting out of hands.
-
Sbmm needs to come back... I don't care what cbmm fans say
-
Because it is awful. P2P connections between different systems as well, make for a crap setup.
-
Agreed. PvP is a mess at the moment and Bungie aren’t responding to the community regarding issues with PvP. Crossplay lobbies between different consoles is just awful. Lag and ghost bullets is killing the game. If Bungie don’t address these issues in PvP; as well as other issues you raise; I feel witch queen may be put on ice for me.
-
The PvP group is so bad at what they do.
-
5 Replies
Pvp feels awful
👆This is a human reaction. Something that you get when interacting with the game. I agree with this feedback. Because it is awful! Neglect is another thing. You could feel it when it is neglected! 😂😂😂 State of the game!

Edited by Skill Privilege: 1/8/2022 2:36:16 PMIt's the sandbox, they destroyed supers and abilities. It's just teamshot HCs now on 3-yr old maps.

Edited by Animal Mother: 1/7/2022 12:19:30 AMPlayed a control match a few days ago against a stacked team. The map was pantheon (can’t think of its D2 name). The other team refused to let B get capped, the whole match it wasn’t captured once. They just kept flipping spawns. I led my team with a .85 kd with our worst player as like a .02.. their top guy was like a 22.5 with 45 kills. After I was done I couldn’t help but wonder why tf I play this damn game 🤷🏻♂️ Edit: since I made this comment I decided to actually review the match. Top player had an 11.5 kd. The entire opposing team was over a 2 kd. My team lists 10 different players, the bottom kd was 0, but for those that actually played the game it was .20 not .02 I actually thought I was playing well for about half the match. They were spawn camping and I was getting double and triple kills quite a bit, until they got their supers. Then it was like 7 or 8 straight deaths. You know how you spawn, you try to get an idea of where you’re at and.. splat. Killed by a super. Gg bungie

I feel it. Used to be moderately aggravating but now it doesn’t even make me mad my face just goes melancholy and I stop caring
