Edited by Mynwe: 11/26/2021 12:16:45 PMUh, what's to research? There isn't many maps, the ones we currently have are mostly awful. Yes, there is a technical reason those old maps were removed, but people aren't in the wrong for wanting better maps (new or old) to be shipped.

They've said exactly what were getting when ...months ago lol
They've said exactly what were getting when ...months ago lol
Sure, but what should concern you is its been over 750 days since the last new pvp map in D2.
-
Yay 3 returning maps and a new one during the year. Waw...so much maps ! They should just bring back 100% of the map they vaulted in the first place. It made no sense to remove most of them. Specially when we have kept mostly maps of destinations that are in the dcv XD
-
Because the maps were terrible and not well liked, due to crappy design or easily controlled spawns.

Edited by Meow Fairy: 11/26/2021 3:35:41 PMAnd so are the current maps. And also when you are a good studio. When there is an issue with a map, you are paid to fix it. Not just to give up and delete it XD. As an example in overwatch when a map have issues, they create new doors/ new ways, removing or adding assets. All those things can turn a crappy map into a nice map. Also...spawns are terrible in d2 current maps as well so if i follow your reasoning we should remove all maps and keep like..1 or 2 ? (Also when it comes to crappy design we have way worse in the current rotation)

Overwatch was a highly competitive PvP game that lived or died based on the maps and characters, given how light development of new content was it makes sense such changes could be made. Also no, seems some people have already forgotten how bad the TotN maps or Emperors Respite or Vostok could be. I’d wager you that if those maps were returned the community would add them to the list of maps they hate and only use them as another stick to beat Bungie over the head.

Edited by Meow Fairy: 11/26/2021 3:46:36 PMNo matter the reason d2 pvp is a very populated playlist. So fixing maps isnt that much to ask...especially from a game that was among the most profitable of the year (Also its not like asking brand new maps)
-
It isn't a matter of just "fixing" the maps. Bungie explained months ago that to bring back Rusted Lands took 3 months, and the effort consumed a lot of resources. Every map must be rebuilt.
-
Bringing back rusted land was a d1 map to d2. Thats different than bringing a d2 map back lol
-
It is still a complete rebuild even though Rusted Lands is a D1 map. Given that Bungie will no longer allocate a lot of resources to creating a map, it now takes them 9 - 12 months to build one map. Expect to wait years until there are several new maps.
-
How in the world bringing back a d2 vaulted map is a complete rebuild XD
-
The game engine was updated. Now the maps must be rebuilt for the engine.
-
Where did they say that?
-
It was probably in the TWAB. After they built Rusted Lands they no longer worked on the maps.
-
Alright, I couldn’t find it from a quick google so I’ll hunt through them TWABs.
-
It’s also not the only priority. Bungie also have seasonal content and DLC content to create, which also needs to have a narrative to string things together. The content would consist of story missions, strikes, raids, dungeons, new playlist activities, locations, etc. Overwatch events boiled down to the same repetitive garbage the live events in Destiny have become, with a single game mode that comes around every year where the event stuff is done. You can complain about how they’ve handled PvP, but highlighting Overwatch as a comparison only goes so far.
