Once earned from the ceremony, Platinum glows only show for the player, whilst everyone else sees their current class standing. This is NOT how they were advertised to work by Bungie, who stated that they would be a way to identify players who had banked Platinum medals. If you're going to make an event that's bare bones at least make sure it works properly. If you then release a patch to fix your bare bones event's bugs, at least fix ALL OF THEM.
