I found a way to make this work!
Mostly as a way to try this out cuz I had an idea
Izuma walks over to the sword, Durendal at her side. Curious, she grabs the hilt of the embedded blade.
English
-
She is immediately transported to a long hallway, statues of knights lining the way to an altar with the sword embedded into it. Durendal would recognize it as Clarent
-
“Alright D, I trust you.” Izuma will approach the altar, one hand on Durendal with the other on a red hand cannon at her side.
-
About halfway through the hall, a knight in black armor steps in front of her, brandishing a piece of paper. Durendal should recognize Mordred, the most famous wielder of Clarent
-
Durendal quickly relays this to her, and she backpedals a few steps. “Heh... hello there?”
-
He chuckles. "Hello there little lady. I'm just here with a few questions for you before you try and claim Clarent---" He stops abruptly and looks down at Durendal. "Oh no, I'm afraid that won't do at all."
-
“Listen, I know it’s weird but... I can explain.”
-
"Well yes, it is weird that I've seen two people with Durendal in what I assume was the same day, but I was referring to you already having a sword of power."
-
“Oh... yeah, that too. But I can explain why I’m here and deserve a chance even though I already have Durendal.”
-
Mordred thinks for a second. "Very well, let's hear it."

First, because I am losing my fire. Everyday it gets colder, and I fear it doesn’t have long. But with Clarent, I may be able to slow or even stop it. It’s the only trick I have left. Second, because Durendal desires a paladin of virtue as his wielder. And I’m... not. He wants to leave me in good hands though, and he’s hoping Clarent can do the trick.”
-
"That's.... actually quite reasonable. Of course, I do think there could be another way to stall your fire, but I'd talk to the other guy about that. This could be allowed, as long as Durendal has another wielder in mind."
-
Edited by Polycephalon: 12/23/2020 9:18:35 PM“He doesn’t have one yet, we’ve had a lot more trouble than expected to find a good wielder. I can promise if I do earn Clarent that I won’t use them at the same time, although I doubt I could handle the mental strain at this point.”
-
"Hmmph. Well, it's highly unusual, but you can certainly try. Just a few questions. What... is your name?"
-
“Thank you! My name is Izuma Lunae.”
-
"And you already answered the second question, so: do you plan to do any heroic last stands that result in your death while wielding Clarent?"
-
“Well I don’t plan on dying, but if I must, I’d like to go out with a bang, Clarent in hand.”
-
"Hmm. Very well, continue on. But do ask if you can get help from Titan. He has a few tricks I believe."
-
“Uh... thanks, that’s really nice of you.” Izu nods and walks towards the end of the hall.
-
As she nears the altar, Titan and his alert ego Mordred step into her path and draw their swords in unison
-
Edited by Polycephalon: 12/23/2020 11:03:53 PMIzu activates the bracer on her left arm, causing a green energy shield to extend, and draws a red revolver from the holster. Her other hand draws Durendal, and she takes an offensive stance. “Two on one? Very well.”
-
Titan chuckles. "I like this one. No complaining." Mordred rushes her as Titan throws several spirals of flame her way
-
Izu raises her shield to block the fireballs, then steps to the side and fires at Mordred (hopefully) before he can reach her, blade ready to parry his inevitable strike.
-
She hits him, but it does nothing as he makes a crushing swing, jarring her arm. Titan throws a wave of fire at her as Mordred goes to swing again
-
Izu will jab with Durendal as she spins and steps to the other side of the passage, trying to bring the shield out in time to block the fire.
-
She blocks the fire, but the jab does little as it hits Mordred's armor. More angered than hurt, he charges towards her, arms wide to try and grab her as Titan flings another wave of flame
